tripadvisorMy wife and I took this ninety minute tour today, and we felt that the drawbacks - despite already having been aired - warranted a further mention. 1. There is only one ticket booth and it is not that easy to find. 2. There are no facilities nearby, e.g loos. 3. You may have a long wait when you turn up. 4. If you decide to hop off then it will be an hour before you can hop on again at that stop. 5. It really is expensive for what you get, i.e. $37 per person.
MoreTraveled with a motorized wheelchair. Excellent and thoughtful service. Took 2 day pass. First day saw the whole route and decided where we wanted off and on the 2nd day.
MoreWe purchased a two day pass and this allowed us to follow the routine we normally use.....use the first day to get an overview of the city and determine where we want spend our time the next day. This worked great and also allowed us to have a variety of driver/tour guides with their commentary over the two days. We liked the pricing with the AAA discount and multi day cost. The schedule was not too bad given the time of the year. We warm beautiful days....not sure how it be if the weather was cool on the open air trolleys.
MoreLots of fun and interesting. We only hopped off at one stop -Washington Park. They ran an hour between trolleys. Sat outside at the back - great views!
MoreWe made the mistake of taking the 3:00 tour - the second to the last tour of the day - and it wasn't time-efficient to do much hopping off. I did appreciate seeing and hearing about parts of the city I probably wouldn't have gotten to in my car. There are only 13 places on the tour and the narration was average. You don't go by Powell's Book Store, it's 3 blocks away. You don't really see the submarine, the driver waved her hand in the general direction, as she did in describing several places. I didn't mind the tour, but I think it costs way more than it should. The value and cost do not match.
