Fort Chadbourne

Fort Chadbourne is a popular tourist attraction and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Fort Chadbourne Foundation was founded to maintain and protect an important historic site. It was named in the honor of 2nd Lt. Theodore Lincoln Chadbourne who lost his life in the Battle of Resaca de la Palma. This fort was also an important part of the Civil War, once wars ceased, Fort Chadbourne transitioned from a military post to a family ranch. Today, visitors can explore this site and know more about the battles and American Civil War.

Constructed in 1931, this post office building replaced a former 19th-century wooden structure. Built in the Neo-Classical style, the building currently serves as the city's post office, and is one of the city's historical gems.

One of the city's architectural gems, the First National Bank Building has a history that dates back to 1886. Today, the original stone building sits inside a Neo-Classical structure that was built in the 1920s.
