The County Clerk's Office is a part of the Denton County government and keeps various records. It offers information related to the residents of the county. The office operates a recording department that provides marriage licenses, passports, and birth, death and assumed name certificates. Its criminal misdemeanor department files criminal cases, records and tracks official information related to court cases and collects fines and fees imposed in misdemeanor cases. The County Clerk's Office also files probate, civil and guardianship cases, as well as beer and wine applications and wills for safekeeping. The office features a library that carries legal reference and law books and CDs.
Enjoy several water rides and have a good time with your family at the Denton Waterworks Water Park. It has four big slides, a sand volleyball court, dedicated space for children in a separate pool and picnic spaces too.
Admire the beautiful Baroque style of architecture building which is the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square while in the city. The structure served as a former courthouse for the county which was built in the year 1896 by the architect Wesley Clark Dodson. Listed on the U.S National Register of Historic Places, the building houses a few government offices and the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum which displays exhibits based on various cultures like African, Native Indian and Hispanic that is seen throughout the United States.
Known to be the first museum of its kind in Denton, the Bayless Selby house museum was founded in 2001. The house dates back to the 19th Century and visitors can see furnishings, clothes, toys, decor, porcelain and many such artifacts.
Honoring the fire fighting heroes, the Denton Firefighters Museum has a good collection of artifacts dating back from the 19th Century to the present day. It is open to public visitation without any charge.
