Microsoft Improves Windows Recall With App and Website Filtering
Microsoft is continuing to refine its AI-powered Windows Recall feature, which has been available for testing to Windows Insiders. Windows Recall captures snapshots of user activity for easier retrieval of the content later on. Initially, it sparked significant debate over privacy and security concerns. In response, the company is introducing new features to give users more control over what data is captured.

A new feature spotted by Windows Insider @ phantomofearth in a recent Dev and Beta build adds a quick settings page for managing app and website filters . Now, you can easily stop Windows Recall from capturing certain apps or sites.
Not only this, but the update will also inform users whether sensitive information filtering is active. This helps prevent data such as passwords, credit card numbers, and other private details from being recorded in snapshots, as reported by Windows Report.
Windows Recall remains an opt-in feature, meaning users must explicitly enable it. Microsoft has emphasized that snapshots are stored locally on the device, encrypted for security, and not shared with the company or third parties. Users will also have the ability to delete snapshots, pause the feature temporarily, or disable it entirely.
Windows Recall has faced criticism since its introduction, with some labeling it a potential privacy risk.
