This Audiophile Bookshelf Speaker System Just Got a Key Hi-Fi Upgrade

Kii Audio is a German hi-fi manufacturer specializing in high-end active speaker systems. They're designed for audiophiles seeking a modern, versatile hi-fi system.
In early 2024, the company introduced the Seven (~$8,000/pair)., a wireless active speaker system with a wealth of wired connections and built-in streaming. Essentially, it was a more affordable, bookshelf-sized version of the brand's flagship model, the Three (~$15,000/pair).
Fast forward to today, and Kii Audio has down two things. First, it's rolled out a firmware update that makes its existing Seven even better. Second, it's introduced a new finish. Let's start with the latter.

Return of the Seven
To date, Kii Audio has offered its Seven wireless active speaker system in two luxurious finishes: Fine Touch White and Fine Touch Dark Grey.
New to 2026, Kii Audio has introduced a third finish option in titanium … called Fine Touch Titanium. According to the brand, the new finish offers "a refined, contemporary aesthetic that complements modern interiors."

While the new finish looks nice, the more significant news is the release of new firmware, which is being rolled out to all Kii's Seven speakers, both new and already owned.
The update brings the Seven wireless speaker system up to modern standards. Specifically, it adds support for Qobuz Connect and improves Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect (including support for Spotify Lossless).
It also provides support for higher-resolution playback (up to 24-bit/192kHz) when the stereo pair is used wirelessly rather than tethered.

Active, wireless, bookshelf
As before, Kii's Seven is a modern speaker system comprising two three-way active, wireless, bookshelf-sized speakers. Each has a three-way design that pairs a custom tweeter, a 5-inch midrange driver and two 6.5-inch woofers.
And each speaker is powered by 600 watts of Class D amplification, meaning a stereo pair combines to deliver 1,200 watts of power — enough to easily fill most rooms.
Maybe most importantly, they are cardioid speakers, meaning they disperse audio in a heart-shaped pattern forward (not backward toward the wall), thereby minimizing reflections that can degrade audio quality. This helps give the listener more flexibility to place the speakers where they want in the room.

"You now just need Kii Seven speakers, a power connection and a streaming service subscription to create a complete high-end audio system," says Kii Audio co-founder, Wim Weijers, via the company's press release.
"With our unique technologies and room-optimisation tools, this means you can get rid of a traditional hi-fi stack and a spaghetti of cables, streamline your life, and improve your listening experience at the same time."
Price and availability
Kii Audio's Seven speakers are available right now — including the new Fine Touch Titanium finish — from a range of authorized audio retailers. They have a suggested retail price of £7,990/pair.
