So naturally, when sales like Amazon's Prime Day roll around, we make sure to track all the deals on which models we've tried (and those that are in our testing pipeline). With Amazon's sale starting very soon on July 8, the headphones deals are showing out strong.

So far, if you're looking for over-ear headphones, you'll have your pick of $100-plus discounts from Apple and Sony. If you're looking at earbuds, you'll also be able to grab great deals on AirPods, Beats, and more. The only category that hasn't picked up a ton of steam yet is open earbuds, but we'll be keeping an eye out for any deals that crop up. Why we like it
Are the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones from 2020? Yes. But they hold up as a legitimately solid pair of noise-cancelling headphones. While they may not have the top-of-the-line noise cancellation or audio, both features will do the job — and for less than half the price of most flagship models from the past two years. They have the same battery life as the WH-1000XM5s and XM6s, plus the folding ear cups that Sony just brought back on the XM6s.
If you prefer a slightly newer model, the XM5s are also $100 off — but we think the sub-$200 price on these headphones is harder to catch and, ultimately, a better value.

The AirPods Pro go on sale year-round more regularly than you'd think, but not quite for $89 off. At $159.99, these earbuds are just $6 away from the record-low price we've seen once. It's possible they'll drop down to it (or lower) during Prime Day, but there is some risk of them selling out. If you want to grab them before the chaos of the sale, this is an excellent price point for our favorite pair of AirPods .
