Bigger Air, Lighter Blade: Acer Revamps Its Swift Laptops at IFA 2026

Acer dropped two new laptops at IFA 2026 , expanding its thin-and-light lineup with the Acer Swift Air 16 and the Swift Blade 14. Aimed at multimedia productivity and portability, respectively, the two new systems share similar processing hardware and premium display technologies. However, you might see only one of these laptops hit US stores next year.

Acer Swift Air 16: Intel Core Series 3 Power in a 16-Inch Canvas

When the Acer Swift Air 16 was announced at IFA last year , we were wowed by how light it was, marveling that a full Copilot+ PC with a 16-inch display could weigh less than 2.2 pounds.

Well, the new model isn't quite so feather light, weighing 3.3 pounds (1.5kg). However, it's still slim at just 0.52 to 0.53 inches (13.3 to 13.5mm) thick, and sold with up to a 120Hz, 3K OLED panel, packing a lot of capability into that thin chassis. The all-aluminum laptop comes in three colors: Elemental Blue, Sage Green, or Sandstone Gold.

Intel Core Series 3 " Wildcat Lake " processors provide CPU muscle and NPU smarts, but it isn't listed as a Copilot+ system, even though it runs  Windows 11  and offers AI-enhanced features. The top configuration, with an Intel Core 7 350, provides up to 40 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS) total across the system, falling below the 40 dedicated NPU TOPS required for Copilot+ certification.

Beyond the CPU, the Swift Air 16 houses up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage, with support for SSD upgrades up to 1TB. If you want touch controls, Acer also sells a 1,920-by-1,200-pixel IPS touch-screen option alongside the flagship 120Hz, 3K OLED panel. Audio quality also sees a boost from a quad-speaker array with DTS Virtual:X spatial audio, while a 1080p FHD IR webcam supports Windows Hello facial recognition for seamless, secure logins.

Acer's port selection includes a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports, a single USB Type-A port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. The whole thing is powered by a 70Wh battery that can fast charge to 50% in just 30 minutes.

The Acer Swift Air 16 will start selling in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in December 2026, with a North America launch in early 2027. Pricing has not yet been announced.

Acer Swift Blade 14: 799 Grams of Magnesium and Carbon Fiber

If you want the ultraportable lightweight design aimed at mobile productivity, then the 14-inch Swift Blade 14 is the laptop you want—if it were released in the States. The ultra-light design weighs just 799g (1.76 pounds) and measures just 12.9mm thick, achieving its feather-light portability through a hybrid build of a magnesium-aluminum alloy keyboard deck alongside carbon fiber top and bottom covers. Sold in Marshmallow White and Marshmallow Blue, it is built specifically for visual work on the go.

The Swift Blade has the same Intel Core Series 3 hardware inside, with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage.

Screen options peak at an impressive 14-inch, 2,880-by-1,800-pixel OLED display running at 90Hz with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Additional hardware highlights include three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, an FHD webcam with a physical side-mounted camera switch, dual digital microphones, and a 50Wh fast-charging battery.

However, North American shoppers might not see this ultralight 14-incher. While Acer confirmed the Swift Blade 14 will launch in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in December 2026, the company made no mention of North American pricing or availability. At any rate, we're keen to test at least one of these slinky laptops soon.
