At CES 2025, LG dropped jaws with a monitor that looks like it belongs in a VFX lab, not a home office. Now, the UltraFine 32U990A -- the world's first 6K display with Thunderbolt 5 -- is officially up for preorder. Whether you're editing in 10-bit color or daisy-chaining a second 6K screen, this is the kind of gear that levels up any desk.

The LG UltraFine 32U990A is now available to preorder for $2,000 at B&H , with an estimated ship date of Oct. 20. This 31.5-inch monitor was one of the most talked-about displays at CES, and it's finally ready to land on real desks. We expect this to be extremely popular, despite the high price, so recommend you preorder to guarantee your monitor.

It covers 98% of DCI-P3 and 99.5% of Adobe RGB, making it ideal for color-critical work like 3D modeling, CAD and high-end video editing. With VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, it supports deep contrast and realistic highlights.

Thunderbolt 5 connectivity means you can transfer data at up to 120Gbps, power devices with 96W delivery, and daisy-chain another 6K monitor -- all through a single cable. The built-in KVM lets you control two devices with one keyboard and mouse, and the USB-C hub supports 10Gbps peripherals. Ergonomic features include tilt, height, pivot and portrait mode.

In CNET's CES monitor roundup , editor Lori Grunin called the UltraFine 32U990A "one of the most exciting pro displays we've seen in years." It's also featured in LG's official newsroom and brand promotion page as the first 6K Thunderbolt 5 monitor built for creators.

Why this deal matters

This is the first 6K monitor with Thunderbolt 5 -- and it's built for creators who need speed, clarity and color accuracy. With 10-bit color, HDR600, and daisy-chaining support, it's a serious alternative to Apple's Pro Display XDR at a fraction of the price. Preordering now means you'll be among the first to get it when it ships on Oct. 20.
