AI is slowly becoming integral to many operating systems, including Windows. Copilot and Windows Recall are two of the main AI features available on Windows PCs. But what if you want your Windows computer to be free of these AI features? In that case, you can use Flyoobe to install Windows 11 without any AI components.

How to Use Flyoobe to Install Windows 11 Without Any AI Features

First, let me give you a brief introduction of Flyoobe. Flyoobe is an open-source application that lets you decide which extra features you want to install alongside Windows 11. The tool was previously known as Flyby11, but the developers recently announced that they are renaming it to Flyoobe, and it will now also include a few additional features.

In addition to everything Flyby11 offered, Flyoobe provides extra features, such as the option to customize Windows right out of the box, which is why the term OOBE (out-of-box-experience) is included in the name. Flyoobe not only lets you decide whether you want AI on your Windows installation, but it also gives you control over the bloatware you want to keep or remove . The tool can even be used to install Windows 11 on unsupported systems .

All that said, let's check out how to use Flyoobe. To begin with, go to the Flyoobe GitHub page and download the application.

Chrome's Safe Browsing feature might flag it as a suspicious download. Fortunately, the developers behind the app are trustworthy, so you can proceed and allow the download. Click the pop-up and choose "Download Suspicious File" to begin downloading the Flyoobe ZIP file.

Extract the downloaded ZIP file to any location on your computer, and then launch the "Flyo.exe" file from the extracted folder.

You will find different tabs at the bottom of the Flyoobe app, such as the Personalization tab, where you can customize the theme of the Windows installation. Since our focus is on disabling AI features in the new Windows installation, you need to select the "AI" tab.

Click the "Check" button, and the Flyoobe app will display all the AI features that Microsoft enables by default on a Windows 11 system. These include items like the Copilot taskbar button, Copilot in Microsoft Edge, and more. Select the checkboxes for all the AI features you want to disable, and then click the "Turn Off Selected" button.

Once the AI features are disabled, you will see a "Disabled" tag next to their name. While you can now directly start the installation process of Windows 11, I highly recommend going through the other tabs as well to ensure that you only get the features and apps you really want. First, access the "Browser" tab and check the option "I need a browser other than Edge." Then, select the browser of your choice from the drop-down menu and click the "Install Browser" option.

Next, switch to the "Apps" tab to view the list of all Microsoft apps that come pre-installed on Windows 11. Check the apps you don't want included in your Windows 11 installation, and click the "Remove Selected Apps" button.

Switch to the "Installer" tab, where you will find a list of third-party applications that you can choose to have pre-installed on your new Windows installation. Select the apps of your choice, and then click the "Install Apps" button.

With all that done, switch to the "Upgrade" tab and choose whether you want to download the Windows 11 ISO file or select the file if you have already downloaded it on your computer. I recommend choosing the "Download ISO via Media Creation Tool" option, which is marked as beginner-friendly.

Save the Media Creation Tool file anywhere on your computer, and then click "Yes" on the Run Tool prompt that appears. In the Windows 11 setup window, select ISO file as the media option you want to use. Wait until Windows 11 is downloaded to your device, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Click the "Finish" button in the Burn the ISO file to a DVD window that appears. Then, drag and drop the Windows ISO file that was just created into the Flyoobe app's Upgrade tab. Click the "Change How Setup Downloads Updates" option, and choose the "Not Right Now" option. Then, click the "Next" button.

That's it. Once installation completes, your PC will boot into Windows 11 without the selected AI features.

This is how you can use Flyoobe to install Windows 11 without any AI features on your system. The best part about this open-source app is that it also allows you to make many customizations to your Windows installation, ensuring that your copy of Windows is not filled with apps and features you don't really care about.
