A Reddit user has shown off what could be the ultimate system—not for gaming, but for just about anything else. Packed inside their surprisingly snug-looking case are four linked RTX 5090 graphics cards, and Asus ROG Astral versions at that. Combined, they pull over 2,400 watts of power and cost $13,000, not to mention the rest of the PC.
Unfortunately, we're well beyond the days of SLI being a viable way to game; otherwise, I'd love to see what this kind of setup could do. In reality, however, the creator states that they primarily use it for 3D design and rendering. While the users of Reddit's PCMasterRace subreddit might joke about the games that this rig might be able to play, it was actually quite the technological and electrical challenge to build such a system.

Modern graphics cards require so much power that if you get a few of them together, you can start to max out what the wall outlets can actually supply and what your home breaker box can handle. In the case of this PC, the four RTX 5090s can pull upwards of 600W each when at peak load. The whole system demands at least another 200W, so with even a 90% efficient power supply, VideoCardz's napkin math has the PC drawing over 2,900W from the wall.
That's far more power than any one power supply can manage, so this system packs twin 2,400W power supplies. I'm not going to claim I completely understand the electronics—particularly with respect to American voltages and wiring from my position across the Atlantic—but it's clear that this system is pushing the limits of what could be viable with typical home wiring. Here's hoping this particular user has taken all due precautions so they don't melt their cables , or worse.
Still, there's no denying the system looks impressive. You can barely see the motherboard under all the GPUs. It's effectively a box of RTX 5090s with a motherboard attached.
