Mophie has been synonymous with smartphone battery packs since the original Juice Pack , which was made specifically to top off the original iPhone almost two decades ago. Though many brands have joined the fray as more and more folks find themselves in need of portable backup power, for those of us who have been covering tech long enough, Mophie still holds that reputation.
Over the years, I have tested dozens of Mophie charging products, from wall chargers to three-in-one wireless charging stations , and, of course, battery packs . Believe it or not, my favorite—the one I'd most highly recommend right now—is among the brand's smallest packs. Compact, Minimalist Design
The Powerstation Mini 5K's biggest selling point is its minuscule size. At 1 by 1 by 3.7 inches (W x D x H), it's only a little bit larger than a tube of lipstick. It easily slips into the pocket of even a skin-tight pair of jeans or a small purse. It's the only battery pack I've tested that could fit in a pants pocket next to my wallet without stacking or stretching them.
Depending on what you carry every day, both in terms of tech and a bag, having a smaller battery pack may make more sense than a high-capacity model designed to keep a laptop going. Well, if that sounds like you, this is the smallest option I've tested from a trustworthy brand. If you have just one or two gadgets, and they only need a quick top-off from time to time, this pack gives you that little bit of extra security. I do wish the pack featured a built-in charging cable. I realize that's a polarizing opinion—some people prefer a detachable cable in case the cord frays—but I generally prefer to have one built-in so I don't have to worry about forgetting it. Still, I will concede that storing the cable and battery separately helps keep the profile thin.
Reliable Charging Performance
Despite its miniature size, the Powerstation Mini 5K doesn't skimp on battery capacity or power output. Its 5,000 mAh power source can fully charge a reasonably sized phone, such as an iPhone 17 or a Google Pixel 10 . With larger phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max or the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra , it won't get you from dead to 100 percent, but it should be enough to get you through even a full day of scrolling.
Its power output, 20 watts, is not exactly speedy by 2026 standards. But, like its smaller capacity, a lower output is the cost of its svelte profile. And, unless you're in a hurry, it gets the job done fine. Depending on what you're charging, the Powerstation Mini 5K can get your battery to about 50 percent in as little as half an hour.

I recommend the Mophie Powerstation Mini 5K to just about anyone, just as I'd vouch for my favorite sanitizing wipes . At about $30, it's a quick pickup and can be a lifesaver when you need it unexpectedly. And unlike the cheap battery packs you see next to the register at the drug store or a gas station, this one delivers solid performance and comes with a two-year warranty. Honestly, even if you already have a larger pack for charging a laptop or DSLR camera, a smaller charger like this still comes in handy.
