UGREEN's new "Ultra" NAS systems put your sluggish homelab to shame
UGREEN wants to be sure your home studio has network-attached storage that's always up to the job —even if you're juggling multiple tasks at once. The company has come to IFA 2026 with two NAS units, the NASync DXP6800 and DX8800 Ultra, that are meant for everyone from individual creatives through to fast-growing shops.
The DXP6800 Ultra is a six-bay NAS that can hold up to 208TB of storage. Its Core 5 120U chip is fast enough for file access from mutliple people, performing backups, or running local apps. You'll also find dual Thunderbolt 4 and dual 10Gbps Ethernet connections for rapid access, including a direct link to your PC.
The DXP8800 Ultra expands the capacity to eight bays and 272TB of peak storage, with a quicker Core 7 150U providing more power for intensive tasks like Docker and virtual machines (VMs).
No matter which model you buy, an external station like UGREEN's LinkStation eGPU Dock can send GPU resources directly to Docker containers and VMs, and an optional UPS can keep data flowing during power outages.

Performance with an expected premium
The NASync DXP6800 Ultra and DXP8800 Ultra are available now at respective prices of $1,450 and $1,780 through both UGREEN's shop and Amazon. Neither model ships with hard drives.
That makes both some of UGREEN's most expensive NAS boxes to date, although you're also clearly getting more. Except for the DXP8800 Plus, most of the company's lineup has four bays or fewer and tends to use slower processors like the Core i3. That's fine for many single-person tasks , but can fall short if you're demanding (such as heavy video editing) or simply want to keep working during a backup.
The new Ultra models theoretically keep everything running smoothly no matter what you're doing. While expensive, they might be strong choices if you expect your NAS usage to scale, particularly if you're running a small business whose NAS needs to scale quickly.
