Some retailers and manufacturers have already kicked off their 4th of July laptop sales, so I've gathered up all of the best early deals right here. I'll be sure to add more over the coming days as more sales go live, so check in regularly if you're shopping for a new tech upgrade.

I've covered the sales for the last four years now and regularly hunt down all the best laptop deals each week here at TechRadar, so I know a good price when I see one, and I'll share all the top offers right here.

I've also put together an everything you need to know guide to the 4th of July laptop sales, including what deals to expect, the products to look out for to get the best savings, and what retailers will be involved in the event in 2025.

Look out for deals on everything from cheap Chromebooks and mid-range devices to high-end MacBooks and gaming powerhouses from the likes of Dell, HP, Best Buy, Amazon, and Lenovo. Whether you've got $100 or $1,000 to spend, you can save serious money on a new device in the sales for general use, work, or even to get ready early for back-to-school.

Remember, also, that Amazon Prime Day is set to take place from July 8 – 11 as well. Of course, that sales event is limited to Amazon Prime members only, so you'll have fewer options if you wait until later in the month. It's worth keeping in mind, though, as the mega-retailer's sale always features plenty of tech bargains and has had solid laptop deals in the past.

4th of July laptop sales – key information

When will the 4th of July laptop sales start?

It would be easy to say July 4 and then call it a day, but the fact is that this year's 4th of July laptop sales are more likely to start in the week before the day itself.

That's been the case in the past, with retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart all starting their sales events at least a week before. There should also been sales live at major manufacturers, including Dell, HP, Lenovo and Microsoft around this time.

So, you shouldn't need to wait until July 4 or the holiday weekend to bag a bargain as the deals should start much before this. I'll be checking retailers and manufacturers regularly and share their best offers as soon as they are available.

4th July laptop sales – the deals to expect

The 4th of July laptop sales usually feature a wide array of devices that cater to multiple needs and budgets. You should be able to find offers on everything from a cheap machine for light everyday use, a excellent value mid-range laptop, flexible 2-in-1 devices for creatives, performance powerhouses for demanding productivity work and high-end gaming laptops.

As I've seen in previous events, it's usually a great time to purchase a Chromebook. These more affordable devices are great for home use and students as they offer excellent value-for-money and squeeze out decent entry-level performance from much cheaper components. Ideal for light admin tasks, schoolwork and relaxing with your favorite streaming show at the end of the day.

Those who need more from their laptop should have lots of options, too. You will likely find some of the year's biggest price cuts on Apple MacBooks, the Dell XPS range, and other premium machines from Samsung, HP, Asus, Acer and Lenovo.

And, lastly, it's also a good time for gaming laptop deals. I'm expecting some particularly strong offers this time now that the new graphics cards have been available for a while. Plus, competition from the handheld gaming space is really heating up, so gaming laptops will need to do a lot to attract enthusiasts when the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go are all compelling options for gaming on the go.

If you have under $200 to spend and need a cheap laptop then you won't find a better option right now.

This Acer Chromebook Plus is great value for money if you need a basic everyday device but don't want to compromise too heavily on performance like you would with a sub-$200 laptop. An Intel i3 processor and 8GB of RAM is a decent pairing with the lightweight ChromeOS, so it's capable of general tasks and light use, such as web browsing, sending emails, word processing and watching videos. Just be aware it's missing some advanced features of a Windows machine and has limited storage, but benefits include better performance with cheaper components and excellent battery life. With an Intel i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a large 512GB SSD, it's the best buy if you have a reasonable budget and need a device that will comfortably handle your day-to-day computing jobs and light work. Expect solid performance, good multitasking capabilities, and speedy load times, but be aware of the bulky 15.6-inch size and battery life of around 6-8 hours that hamper its portability. Altogether, though, this is a seriously impressive laptop for the price.
