A new exclusive clip for Devil May Cry Season 2 has a couple of new characters it wants you to meet: Ebony and Ivory, Dante's trademark guns from the games. Devil May Cry Season 2 arrives on Netflix on May 12, 2026, and will see Dante once again at odds with his twin brother, Vergil.

"The interesting part is that Vergil's a guy who can stand completely still and still feel like the most dangerous one in the room," Adi Shankar , the showrunner and executive producer of the animated series, told Collider . "His presence does the talking."

Season 1 of the show focused on Dante's conflict with the terrorist White Rabbit and an impending apocalypse. Shankar promised Season 2 will continue to deliver plenty of surprises for fans. "I'm allergic to formula. I dislike when successful shows turn into comfort food," he said in the same Collider interview. "Devil May Cry won't be TV that loops. My mission for Season 2 was to capture the feeling of a 2000s film franchise entry where the audience can't predict the next turn."

Dante and friends have wielded a lot of absurd weaponry in across the five DMC games, but these 10 stand out in my mind as the best of the best.

By Mitchell Saltzman

10. Cerberus

A three-sectioned nunchaku with the power of ice (and later in DMC5, with the powers of fire and thunder as well), the Cerberus is one of Dante's best weapons in Devil May Cry 3. It's a close-range powerhouse, with the ability to chain several multi-hitting attacks in the air thanks to the power of the Jump Cancel.

9. Cavaliere

Devil May Cry always looks to outdo itself with each new iteration in terms of its ridiculous arsenal of weapons, and with DMC5, they just might have succeeded with this weapon that doubles as both a motorcycle and dual sawblade axes.

8. Yamato

Like Nero's Red Queen, Vergil's Yamato allows for a playstyle that's complete unlike Dante, which is awesome. It's extremely quick, allowing for multiple rapid slashes, including those cool bubble slashes that Vergil likes to use against you in his boss battles.

7. Pandora

Pandora is part suitcase, part glaive, part rocket launcher, part minigun, part mobile artillery station, all awesome. And that's really all that needs to be said about that.

6. Nevan

Nevan is all about style. It's one of the trickier DMC weapons to use for sure, but those who take the time to master the electric bat summoning guitar are able to execute combos and techniques that are unparalleled in their sheer "Wow!" factor.

5. Balrog

Just about every DMC game has a weapon that grants Dante hand to hand combat abilities, but only Balrog offers two stances each with wildly different attacks. Balrog is essentially two weapons in one, with the added bonus of "heating up" when you land numerous attacks without taking any damage.

4. Ebony and Ivory

The gold standard of firearms, Ebony and Ivory are Dante's weapon of choice when it comes to juggling enemies in the air with a barrage of bullets.

3. Red Queen

Nero's revvable Red Queen sword allows for an entirely different playstyle compared to Dante, thanks to the timing-based Exceed mechanic that alters the sword's attacks depending on its Exceed level.

2. Agni and Rudra

The twin swords Agni and Rudra allow for some of the coolest combos in DMC3, and they hold a special place in our hearts due to the memorable boss fight that they're a part of.

1. Rebellion

Whether it's Rebellion, Force Edge, Alastor, or Sparda, they may not be the flashiest, but they're easily the most iconic swords in Dante's arsenal. They can do a little bit of everything, ground combos, air combos, dash attacks, multihitting attacks, quick attacks, slow attacks, you name it.

Johnny Yong Bosch will return as Dante, Robbie Daymond will lend his vocal cords to Vergil once again, while Scout Taylor-Compton is Lady, AKA Mary Ann Arkham.
