Gundam Rogue Orbit Sets March 2027 Release Date, New Trailer

Gundam Rogue Orbit now has a release date.

Bandai Namco confirmed during PlayStation's September 3 State of Play that the action game launches March 5, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, accompanied by a new trailer showing off gameplay, new characters, and a mysterious black Mobile Suit.

A New Timeline for the Gundam Saga

Gundam Rogue Orbit sets an original story in an all-new universe, separate from existing Gundam continuity, following humanity's fight for survival against an unknown threat called the Apocalypse.

Players control RE-X, pilot of the Gundam Helix, who teams up with a Haro companion named Vii and forges alliances with other soldiers as the story unfolds across sprawling zones on the ground, in the air, and across space.

Combat is built around fast, high-mobility melee action, with players dashing across battlefields and transitioning between ground and aerial attacks. Mobile Suits can be customized extensively, with different weapons, frames, thrusters, and Apocalypse Units (AP-U) available to match individual playstyles, alongside custom color schemes and loadouts.

The new trailer also teased a mysterious black Mobile Suit with glowing red eyes, whose role in the story hasn't been detailed yet.

Pre-Orders Open Across Four Editions

Pre-orders are live now across Standard, Launch, Deluxe, and Collector's Editions.

The Launch Edition adds reversible cover art, a poster, and a Gundam Card Game promo card, while the Deluxe Edition includes a Premium Mod Skins Set, a 14-color Mobile Suit Color Pack, and a digital artwork and music selection. The Collector's Edition goes furthest, bundling in a limited-color Gunpla model of RE-X's Mobile Suit. Anyone who pre-orders also gets an early unlock of the Earth Blue color customization option.

Gundam Rogue Orbit is developed by Bandai Namco Studios as part of the publisher's RG Project media initiative, which also includes a new Gundam anime series set in the same continuity. With March 5, 2027 now locked in, the game joins a busy early 2027 for PlayStation releases across multiple publishers.
