Season 3.5 is bringing more variety to the ever-changing landscape of Marvel Rivals. A new map, character, and Team-Up are coming August 8th.

Fan favorite Blade finally makes his debut with this update, and he's joining the roster as a Duelist. If you're not a fan of the current dive meta, this probably won't make you any happier. Blade is built for up-close fights, equipped with a shotgun and his Ancestral Sword. His ultimate, Sword of Dracula, lets him dash straight through enemies and leave a line of damage behind. Looks like the dive meta is here to stay.

Content Changes

Two new team-ups are being added inSeason 3.5:

• Duality Dance (Luna Snow & Adam Warlock) - Luna can convert damage taken into healing and counterattacks while Adam boosts her survivability.

• Vibrant Vitality (Mantis, Loki & Groot) - Groot's walls now heal allies, Loki increases their damage, and Mantis serves as the anchor for the combo.

These two older Team-Ups are being removed

• Guardian Revival (Adam Warlock, Mantis & Star-Lord)

• Atlas Bond (Iron Fist & Luna Snow)

New Map & Mode

• Throne of Knull is joining the fray as a map exclusively available for the gamemode Resource Rumble, launching August 22nd.

Restructuring of Penalties for Abandoning Competitive Matches

Starting August 8th, quitting matches early will bring longer bans and harsher point deductions. Players who stay until the end of unbalanced matches won't lose as many points going forward, helping mitigate the damage for players who stuck it out. New voice and text filters meant to reduce in-game toxicity are also being added.

3.5 isn't the biggest update ever, but it's got a little bit of everything, and coming four weeks into the season instead of 6 feels great! Blade is the obvious highlight, but the map, the mode, and the competitive tweaks all give Marvel Rivals a decent reset heading into Season 4.
