Mythmon: Mythic Monsters Launches On PC Sept. 7

Mythmon: Mythic Monsters , the hack-and-slash monster-taming auto-battler from developer MachHabaneroGames and publisher Kodansha Creators' Lab, launches on PC via Steam on Monday, September 7.
Players take command of a squad of creatures called Mythmon in a campaign to bring down the Demon Lord's armies.
Building A Squad To Take Down The Demon Lord
Players recruit five Mythmon from a roster of 30 to form a squad, then work out formations before each fight rather than controlling characters directly in battle. Ranged specialists go in the Backline, tanks and aggro-focused fighters hold the Frontline to soak up damage and pull attention away from squishier teammates, and more flexible Mythmon fill the Mid-Guard for swing strategies. Each Mythmon grows into its own signature talents over time, with more than 10 elemental status effects spanning fire, ice, wind, and beyond to build around.
Equipment adds a real risk-reward layer on top of squad building. Scouting an opponent's loadout before a fight lets players decide whether to play aggressively for a shot at plundering powerful gear, or hang back and strike only when the moment is right. The stakes cut both ways: losing a battle means surrendering equipment to the Demon Lord's forces, making them stronger for the next fight.
From Magical Animals To Mythmon
Mythmon: Mythic Monsters was originally announced under the working title "Magical Animals" before Kodansha, and MachHabaneroGames rebranded it ahead of a playable demo that launched during June's Steam Next Fest.
Beating the Demon Lord isn't the end of the road either: doing so unlocks endgame dungeons built around endless waves of advanced enemies, demanding the same kind of careful pre-battle formation planning that gets a squad through the main campaign.
Kodansha Creators' Lab, established in 2021 as the fourth department of publishing company Kodansha Ltd., focuses on supporting indie creators under the motto "Everything for the creator."
Mythmon: Mythic Monsters arrives September 7 with English and Japanese language support.
