Two Nintendo Directs announced for next week: Here’s where and when to watch
If you thought Sony was the only one with a bunch of announcements with their State of Play this week, think again, as it's time for Nintendo to step up to the plate with not just one, but two Nintendo Direct streams. The first is entirely dedicated to The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary and should have some cool stuff in it, while the other is the standard Nintendo Direct full of reveals, trailers, and more.

When are the September 2026 Nintendo Directs?

The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct is on Tuesday, September 8, 2026,at 10am ET, while the regular Direct is on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, also at 10am ET.

What to expect in the September 2026 Nintendo Directs?
As far as the Zelda Direct goes, the thing that seems most likely is the release date for the Ocarina of Time Remake, as that was announced in June with a 2026 release window. The other likely thing is a new trailer for the live-action Legend of Zelda movie that's set to release in April 2027.
As for the general Direct, it's more likely to be new trailers and release date reveals for games we already know are coming. June's Nintendo Direct revealed so much new stuff that we wouldn't expect anything major from this one. However, within that will likely be the release date for Duskbloods – the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive FromSoftware title – a Switch 2 release date for Monster Hunter Wilds, and possibly even a special-edition console or controller for Zelda's 40th anniversary.
There will also be two hours of Treehouse gameplay immediately following the Wednesday Direct.
