There are lots of upcoming Xbox Series X/S games for 2026 (and beyond) to look forward to, and this roundup is here to help you easily keep track of everything that's ahead.

September is a massively busy month, thanks to a ton of games avoiding the GTA 6 bubble of November. And, thanks to the likes of Gamescom 2026, announcing even more titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered and a new strategy game set in the Rainbow Six universe, things are constantly getting even more overwhelming as well. We also recently got some updates on some of the biggest new games coming to the console, including the Xbox exclusive , Gears of War: E-Day .

So, to make sure that you don't miss a thing and stay up to date with this barrage of exciting new announcements, below are all the new Xbox games organized in release order, and we've also made sure to clarify which exciting titles are still waiting for a launch window as well. Onimusha: Way of the Sword

As someone who loves playing all the best action RPGs , I'm so excited that Onimusha: Way of the Sword is heading to consoles. In the new Xbox game, you play as the young samurai Miyamoto Musashi, who arrives in Edo-period Kyoto only to be faced with monsters from the underworld known as Genma. You'll need to slay and kill your way through enemies, and from the clips I've seen so far, you'll be doing so in gory, fantastical fashion. Sign me up.

Halloween: The Game

Halloween: The Game is a new horror sandbox multiplayer game based on the iconic 1978 movie that sees you either take on the role of Michael Myers, or as a hero of Haddonfield. With a standalone single-player story mode from Myers' perspective, Original director and writer John Carpenter is also on board as executive producer.

Mewgenics

RuneScape is a massive name in the RPG space, and now we are getting a new open-world game from the IP this September. Coming to the Xbox Series X/S, RuneScape: Dragonwilds lets you explore the continent of Ashenfall, with friends or solo (it depends on what you prefer). This is a RuneScape game, so of course you will need to build up your skills in order to come out on top, and if you want any hope of surviving the Dragon Queen. This game will also be on Game Pass, so it's a great one for you and a bunch of friends to try out together if you want to test the waters as well.

Train Sim World 7

Train Sim World 7 is an upcoming Xbox game that will let you live out your locomotive dreams in style. From the trailers, the visuals look stunning here, which is a massive bonus if you are looking to relax by watching trains pass by or get immersed in the title's train driver career as well. You can play the game five days early if you pick up the Deluxe edition. But before you reach for your wallet, the developers have disclosed that they used AI to generate some voice-over elements. Luckily, all the scripts were written by Dovetail Games staff.

Somewhere between the likes of Pokemon and Palworld, Aniimo's big twist seems to come from the ability to actually control the critters you befriend by somehow transforming into them, exploring the world from their perspective as you battle some much bigger but no less cute beasties in real-time.

Endless Legend 2 is officially leaving Early Access this September, and if you love 4X strategy games, you will want to check this one out. Set in a fantasy world, you will have to try and dominate an ever-evolving map in order to win. It's unclear if the full release will remain on Game Pass, but I'll let you know as soon as I hear any news.

As big fans of The Walking Dead, the GamesRadar+ team is very excited to get our hands on the upcoming Xbox game, The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival. This is a 2D arcade beat-em-up title that has you stepping into the shoes of the franchise's most iconic survivors (looking at you, Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon). It's up to you to kill some zombies, having to face hordes, boss fights, and some more challenges along the way as well.

If you are a cozy gamer, chances are you know Graveyard Keeper. Well, the good news is that Graveyard Keeper 2 is on its way, and it's heading to Xbox. In this sequel, you are back managing a medieval graveyard; however, this time you are also the Grand Inquisitor. What is more, there is an undead army threatening you, and you'll need to build up your own zombie forces to fight back while also rebuilding the town. Graveyard Keeper sounds like a blast (albeit a bit more stressful than the first game), and I'll be picking it up for sure.

Well Dweller

Well Dweller is the perfect blend between eerie and cute and has fast become one of my most anticipated New Xbox games for the month. In this Metroidvania, you control an adorable bird armed with a matchstick who is on a quest to burn the evil queen and save his family. You will need to fight giant bosses, solve puzzles, and discover a bunch of secrets along the way. If you loved Silksong, I'd say keep an eye on this one, folks.

Rayman Legends Retold is an upcoming remake of the classic 2013 platformer, Rayman Legends, and from what we've seen so far it is just as good as we remember it being . In fact, this is pretty much a one-to-one remake that's even built on the original's exact level design data. If you are a fan of the series this is well worth your time, since its success will also likely influence if we finally get a new game in the franchise after years of waiting.

I love the look and the premise of this title already, so I expect big things from it.

Planet Zoo 2

Valor Mortis is a first-person action soulslike where you play as a fallen soldier risen from Napoleon's army. I love the look of this one, and am very happy we are getting it just before spooky season hits this year.

The first HD-2D game in the Final Fantasy series is coming to Xbox. Final Fantasy Resonance is the adaptation of the 2015 title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius's first story arc, and from trailers, it looks great already. Keep in mind that this upcoming RPG has got turn-based combat, so if you aren't a fan of that, stay clear.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

While we are still waiting for The Wolf Among Us 2, at least we have a release date for The Wolf Among Us Remastered. This is one of my personal favorite detective games as you take on the role of the detective Bigby Wolf and solve crimes in Fabletown. Your choices can decide others' fates as well as how you are treated. It's a gritty and brilliantly written Noir that I highly recommend for all Xbox owners.

Snap and Grab was first officially revealed during Day of the Devs: SGF Edition 2025 , and it looks set to be quite the crime caper. Set in the 1980's, you take on the role of Nifty Nevada. As a famous fashion photographer, you'll use her camera skills to snap shots of key locations and plan out various heists.

There are No Ghosts at the Grand

A hotel renovation game with a musical twist, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand follows a protagonist who's inherited a run-down hotel from their missing father. Nothing is as it seems in this hotel, though, and you'll be decorating by day and hunting ghosts by night as you uncover supernatural mysteries.

Although this was originally meant to release in 2026, it's a nice way to start the new year. Stranger Than Heaven is an upcoming action-adventure that is set across five different eras and cities. You follow the journey of Makoto Daito, who, after losing both of his parents, decides to make a life for himself in Japan. It's very Yakuza-coded (as to be expected), and the good news is that you can preorder it now too.

Metro 2039

Gundam Rogue Orbit is one for all my sci-fi lovers out there. Set to come our way in 2027, this new Xbox title from Bandai Namco will let players pilot their own mechs as they fight for survival. It all sounds very cool, and I'm excited to feel like the star in my very own action movie once it releases.

ILL looks disgustingly terrifying, and I mean that as a high compliment considering it's an upcoming horror game . Even as a horror fanatic and horror movie snob, seeing some of the creations in ILL's trailers made me feel ill. So, needless to say, I'm very excited for this one. I can't believe this, but sicko rejoice because a new Cuphead game is on the way. We don't know much about the story or bosses in this one yet, but it's likely to be just as brutal and fun as the first Cuphead outing, so we are already excited about it.
