The Witcher 3's Final Patch Won't Be Coming Until 2026

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the greatest games ever made, and despite coming out 10 years ago, CD Projekt Red continues to tinker with it. We already got a free surprise PS5 update of the game in 2023, but it doesn't appear that it will be the last update the game gets.

CDPR announced back in May that they were planning to release "one more patch" in 2025, but that's not happening. The developer announced that the update has been delayed until 2026.

We apologize for the delay and will share more details as we get closer to the release," CD Projekt said . "Thank you for your patience!"

CDPR is no stranger to delays, as it seems to happen with every release that they tease. Maybe they should just stop announcing release dates and just say that they're working on something that will come out eventually.

Regardless, this next update is meant to make modding easier for The Witcher 3 and will introduce cross-platform mod support across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This will definitely breathe some new life into an older game, while we eagerly await The Witcher 4, which likely won't be out until 2027 at the earliest.
