11 Cool New Gadgets to Keep on Your Radar

Another week down, and, per usual, a bunch of new tech and gadgets have been announced.
This past week, Google introduced four new Pixel smartphones, Kanto Audio revealed the second-generation of its Obi3 turntable, and Fiio announced its first vacuum tube amplifier. But that's just scratching the surface.
Below, we've rounded up all the most interesting new releases and announcements you might have missed from the past week.
Fiio EA13 Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier
The Fiio EA13 is a two-channel vacuum tube amplifier that's designed to drive a set of passive bookshelf or floorstanding loudspeakers. It's a Class A amplifier that features six tubes in total: two Sylvania NOS PCF80 tubes (for voltage amplification) that drive four JJ Electronic EL34 tubes. Working together, Fiio claims that the tubes give the EA13 a "smooth, full-bodied tube character while maintaining an open and natural presentation." The amp is capable of delivering 28 watts per channel into either 8 or 4 ohms (there are dedicated connections for each), which doesn't seem like a lot on paper, but it really means it's designed to drive efficient loudspeakers with high sensitivities. read more
Kanto Audio Obi3 (Gen 2)
The Obi3 (Gen 2) is an upgraded version of the Obi3 turntable that was released less than a year before. Like its predecessor, the Gen 2 model is a manual belt-drive turntable with a switchable phono stage and built-in Bluetooth. It also comes with the same Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge and an aluminum J-shaped tonearm. However, the new turntable has a more premium build (and four pounds heavier) and features a built-in speed sensor for accurate playback. At $250, it's $50 more expensive than the first-gen Obi3. read more
Ruka Studio TD-1 Vertical Turntable
The TD-1 is a high-end vertical turntable and the first product from Ruka Studio, a design firm started by a "collective of former Apple engineers and designers." It's a belt-drive turntable with a premium build. It has an aluminum-milled body and features mechanical knobs and switches for playback and electronic speed controls. Interestingly, the TD-1 comes with a specialized wall mount that is rubber-coated and has a built-in level. Once secured to the wall, the TD-1 magnetically clicks into place. For playback, it has wired inputs and built-in Bluetooth, so it can be integrated into a traditional or modern wireless system. read more
Google Pixel 11 Series
Google's Pixel 11 series consists of four new smartphones: the Pixel 11, the Pixel 11 Pro, the Pixel 11 Pro XL and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Each of these next-generation smartphones has slimmer and more powerful cameras, significantly more advanced AI capabilities (as has become expected), and double the storage of their predecessors. The catch? Each model also costs $100 extra. They're available for preorder now and will start shipping next week (on August 20th). read more
Google Pixel Watch 5
Google didn't rewrite the script with the latest smartwatch, as the Pixel Watch 5 is basically identical to last year's Pixel Watch 4. It has the same rounded glass screen. Its display has the same 3,000-nit brightness. It's available in the same 41mm and 45mm sizes. However, Google bumped up the RAM and internal storage. And, most importantly, gave it a more accurate GPS and more health-related features. It also comes in some new colors, including Pyrite and Dark Anthracite. read more
Google Pixel Tag
The Pixel Tag is Google's answer to Apple's AirTag. It's a small Bluetooth tracker that works with Android's Find Hub network and allows users to keep tabs on its location via the Find Hub app. At $29, or $99 for a 4-pack, it costs exactly as much as an AirTag. It also lacks an integrated keyhole, so Google is releasing a wide range of compatible accessories (at an extra cost, of course) that you'll likely need to attach to your gear. It will be available starting November 11th. read more
Goldmund Telos 9800 Power Amplifier
Goldmund's Telos 9800 is a Swiss-made monoblock power amplifier built for listeners who refuse to compromise — at any price. Its fully symmetrical, Class A/B architecture and proprietary Telos amplification technology push 1,560 watts into 8 ohms, with power scaling all the way down to 1.4-ohm loads. A two-part chassis physically separates the power supply from the amplification stage, and precision-machined aluminum with discreet gold accents gives each 360-kilogram unit an architectural presence to match its engineering ambition. read more
Insta360 X6
The Insta360 X6 is the company's newest flagship 360-degree action camera and the next evolution of the X5, which was released in April 2025. Compared to the X5, the X6 has a significantly smaller body and longer battery life. And it promises drastically improved image quality, up to 8K at 50fps, thanks to bigger sensors and new processing chips. Also, it's the first 360 camera to natively support Dolby Vision HDR. These improvements come at a cost; the X6's $700 starting price is $150 more than its predecessor. The pocketable camera comes in two finishes: Midnight Black or Arctic White. read more
Fiio Snowsky Nature
The Snowsky Nature is a pair of over-ear, closed-back wired headphones that cost just $39. They get their name from a "nature-inspired industrial design" meant to look like real wood but made mostly of plastic (which helps keep them lightweight and affordable). They feature newly engineered 50mm dynamic drivers, which the brand says were "developed to reproduce music with greater authority, lower distortion, and improved realism." read more
LG Xboom Blast
LG's Xboom Blast is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed for outdoor parties. It features four drivers: two 5.25-inch neodymium woofers and a pair of 20mm tweeters. It's capable of delivering up to 220 watts of power, which is beefy. At just over 14 pounds, it's also on the larger end (this is not an ultra-portable speaker). Other features include a 36-hour battery life and an IP68 water-resistance rating. And, like the rest of the Xboom series, its sound profile was tuned in collaboration with will.i.am. At the time of writing, price and availability info have not been announced. read more
Soundpeats UU2
The Soundpeats UU2 is the next evolution of the company's Pop Clip 1 wireless earbuds. Like their predecessor, they are wireless earbuds with an open-ear design that clips to the outside of your ears. But Soundpeats has updated them with a longer battery life (up to 10 hours per earbud), new physical buttons for easier playback controls, and improved sound quality. Best of all? At $50, they are actually $20 cheaper than the 2025-released Pop Clip 1. read more
