From AirPods to laundry detergent in 30 minutes: Amazon's new service is here
Something exciting is headed this way via Amazon.
The company is rolling out its "ultra-fast" Amazon Now service to multiple U.S. cities.
Available in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and Seattle, the new service gets customers their deliveries in just 30 minutes.
The service also has plans to expand in other cities, including Orlando, Austin, Denver and Phoenix.
So, what can Prime customers order through the Now service?
According to Amazon, the service will allow customers to get their hands on different items ranging from groceries to electronics in just 30 minutes, and the service will be available 24 hours a day in most areas.
Not a prime member? That's okay too, as non-subscribers can also use the service, but it's important to note that the option isn't free.
Amazon Prime subscribers are expected to shell out $3.99 per order, while non-subscribers will see a fee of $13.99.
Orders below a minimum threshold will run Prime members an additional $1.99, while non-prime members will be charged $3.99 for comparable orders.
"Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less," Udit Madan, senior vice president of Amazon Worldwide Operations, said in a statement.
"With thousands of items available for ultra-fast delivery, you can get everything from groceries for dinner, to AirPods before a flight, to household essentials like laundry detergent or toothpaste delivered right to your door," he added.
Wondering if you're eligible for the service?
Customers who reside in areas where Amazon Now is available will see a "30-Minute Delivery" option in the banner on the Amazon app and on the website.
The new service joins Amazon's one-and three-hour delivery options, in addition to its same-day delivery and its latest Prime Air drone delivery service.
