Flipper Devices, maker of the Flipper Zero and Flipper One , is back with yet another quirky device. The company just updated its Busy Bar, a customizable compact display that lets everyone know when you're busy and when you'll be free again.

First introduced last year, the Busy Bar is meant to minimize distractions and improve focus on the task at hand. You can place it on your desk, mount it on top of a monitor, or hang it on a wall.

As with every Flipper device, the Busy Bar comes with a retro aesthetic and toy-like physical controls. It has two LED screens: a larger front screen displays the message you'd like others to see, while the smaller one at the back mirrors it for you.

The physical controls come in three different shapes. The large Start/Pause button lets you start DND mode, while the dial next to it lets you set a timer for it. There's also a third movable switch that lets you turn off the device, access apps or settings, or choose the custom mode.

You can connect the Busy Bar to your PC via USB or by downloading the desktop app. It can also be controlled by downloading the Busy app on your Android or Apple phone.

When connected, the display can show you are "Busy" the moment you answer a call, start a recording, or launch a work app. You can also customize the device to mute notifications and block distracting apps while you're in the Busy mode.

The Busy Bar has an open API, and developers can build third-party apps to work with the device. It is also Matter -certified and compatible with Apple Home, Google Home, and Home Assistant, Flipper says.

Since launching the gadget for the first time last year, "the team has spent the past year refining the hardware and building a complete software ecosystem, designed for 'Digital Silence," the company says.

The updated Flipper Busy Bar starts at $249, the same price as last year's model. You can sign up starting today via the Busy app, and shipping will begin on July 14. Flipper is also offering a $50 discount to the first 3,000 customers.
