kaleidescape marks 25 years with a major cedia 2026 showcase

Kaleidescape is celebrating its 25th anniversary at CEDIA Expo 2026, and the company is using the milestone to put its newest Strato K movie player front and center while taking part in demos throughout the show. Over the past five years under CEO Tayloe Stansbury, Kaleidescape has expanded its hardware lineup, added studio partnerships, moved into more international markets, and most recently introduced the Strato K, which the company calls the world's first 8K-certified movie player.

The Strato K also introduces Kaleidescape's new 4K Cinematic movie format, which takes advantage of the player's additional processing power with higher bitrates and full chroma sampling up to 4:4:4. Visitors will be able to see the latest Kaleidescape hardware throughout CEDIA at Booth #3706, along with several other rooms and demos using the platform as their movie source.

Kaleidescape's own booth will feature multiple Strato K movie players connected to Terra movie servers storing the demo content. Three very different displays will be used to show what the player can do. The largest is an 18-foot-wide Quantum Media Systems LED wall with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio. Kaleidescape will also be feeding a Sony BRAVIA 9 II True RGB 4K HDR TV and an 85-inch Samsung Neo QLED QN990F 8K TV. Audio duties in the booth will be handled by Trinnov Altitude16 processors, Meyer Sound Ultra-X20XP loudspeakers, and X400C subwoofers, with AudioQuest HDMI cables connecting the systems.

More Than 50 Brands Will Use Kaleidescape at CEDIA

Kaleidescape will have a much larger presence beyond its own booth, with more than 50 brands using its players to power demos throughout CEDIA Expo 2026. One of the main theater demos will take place in Sound Room 2120, where Kaleidescape has partnered with Sony, KEF, Stewart Filmscreen, Panamorph, and Acoustic Innovations.

The room will feature the Strato K in a complete home cinema environment, giving attendees a chance to see the new 4K Cinematic format and its native 8K playback capabilities alongside lossless audio in a dedicated theater setup.

Kaleidescape will also be part of the system in Sound Room 10, joining Christie, Seymour-Screen Excellence, madVR Labs, ASCENDO, AcustiMOD, Officina Acustica, Moovia, and StormAudio for a luxury home cinema demo. StormAudio's Fusion 20 processor will handle the audio system, with the Strato K providing the movie source for both picture and lossless audio.

Another Kaleidescape-powered demo can be found at Quantum Media Systems in MR-201 HPA, where the company will showcase its Quantum XDR 8K MicroLED display wall with TPI speakers and electronics and a StormAudio processor.

Kaleidescape Marks 25 Years

The company will celebrate its anniversary on Wednesday, September 2, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Booth #3706. The event is being held with CEDIA and is open to all CEDIA Expo attendees. This will give the company a chance to look back at 25 years in home entertainment while showing where its platform is headed next.

We'll be at CEDIA and plan to spend some time with the Strato K across several of these demos. I'm especially interested in seeing how 4K Cinematic looks on the 18-foot Quantum Media Systems LED wall and how the player performs across the different theater setups being shown around the floor.
