Christie Aims a 15,000-Lumen Cinema Projector at Home Theaters

Christie is bringing the native 4K CP4415m-RGBH to CEDIA Expo 2026 in Denver, and while the three-chip DLP Cinema projector is already installed in commercial theaters, the company says it is now positioning it explicitly for premium residential cinemas. The projector weighs 132 pounds, draws roughly 1,060 watts, relies on a self-contained liquid cooling system, and produces as much as 15,000 lumens across screens up to 52 feet wide.
The CP4415m-RGBH is not making its debut at the show. Christie introduced the RGBH cinema projector family in late 2025, and units are already deployed in cinemas. What has changed, however, is the intended audience. Rather than taking a consumer projector and adding laser output, Christie is instead pulling technology built for movie theaters, screening rooms, and post-production facilities toward the largest dedicated home cinemas being built today.
Native 4K and Three-Chip DLP
The projector uses a 0.98-inch 4K SST three-chip DLP Cinema imaging system with native 4096 x 2160 resolution. Each primary color gets its own DMD, eliminating the color wheel and any pixel shifting required to generate a 4K image. Christie's Phazer hybrid laser illumination system delivers up to 15,000 lumens with a high-brightness cinema lens and reproduces DCI-P3 color, and the laser is rated for more than 50,000 hours. As a result, a sealed optical path is designed to limit dust contamination and reduce long-term maintenance.
The brightness figure dwarfs consumer competition. A JVC DLA-NZ500 is rated at 2,000 lumens, Sony's BRAVIA Projector 7 at 2,200, and Epson's QB1000 at 3,300. Even the Epson QL7000, built specifically for large residential screens and rooms with ambient light, tops out at 10,000 lumens, leaving the Christie another 50 percent above it. Contrast is rated as high as 6,000:1 full-field on/off; however, Christie specifies maximum brightness with its high-brightness cinema lens and maximum contrast with a UHC lens, so those peak numbers do not necessarily occur together.
Christie also incorporates Electronic Color Convergence, LiteLOC white-point tracking, a motorized Intelligent Lens System, and its CineLife+ electronics platform. According to Christie, LiteLOC maintains color balance and brightness as the laser source ages, which matters more in an installation expected to remain in place for years.

The 4K/120Hz Caveat
Christie states the platform can handle very high bitrate content at up to 4K/120Hz, but the fine print rules out gaming. The projector carries two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two DisplayPort 1.2 connections, four 12G-SDI inputs, and Ethernet. The 4K/120Hz figure applies, however, when the unit is paired with a GDC SR-6400 integrated media block, not through an HDMI 2.1 input from a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. This is therefore professional high-frame-rate cinema playback, not a 132-pound gaming projector.
Placement and Price
The obvious home application is a large dedicated theater with a very big screen, especially installations using acoustically transparent material where high light output helps. At 33.5 x 26.8 x 12 inches, the CP4415m-RGBH is more manageable than Christie's most extreme systems, but it still requires professional installation, substantial power, careful ventilation, and potentially optional heat extraction.
In terms of the lineup, the projector slots between Christie's Korus 4K1000A-KS, a more conventional single-chip design delivering over 10,000 lumens, and the $400,000 Eclipse G3, which uses six DLP chips and reaches 30,000 ANSI lumens. Christie currently lists the CP4415m-RGBH at $68,900, a figure that could shift with tariffs.
