iPhone 18 Pro Design: The New Predicted Colors

A regular leaker on Weibo, called Fixed Focus Digital, has reported that the colors for the new phone will not be quite the same as previously suggested.

The much-vaunted hero color of Dark Cherry, also called Burgundy and Wine Red, is still in the mix, but the previously claimed silver option "is probably not going to be available," the leaker's Weibo post said.

Just a week ago, color predictions included silver, suggesting it would be the one color that carried over from the current iPhone 17 Pro range, even if it turned out to be a different variant of silver.

On the other hand, where black or space gray had previously been discounted, Fixed Focus Digital says it's likely to appear.

iPhone 18 Pro Design: The Third Color

The third color would be Sky Blue, which fits with the dominant shade in the Apple special event invite, something that Mark Gurman from Bloomberg had insisted was there to evoke the light blue iPhone that would follow.

All of which means, it's hard to know what colors will be the final range — though it's a certainty that the super-popular Cosmic Orange will not be carried forward. Apple has never used a hero color twice unless it's left the iPhone's hues unchanged from year to year, and that's hardly ever happened.

While it's thought the colors of the first foldable iPhone will be more subdued and conservative, likely silver and black or dark blue, there's been so much more debate about the Pro colors that they could turn out to be a genuine surprise when they are revealed by Apple in a week or so's time.

The iPhone 18 Pro could introduce a striking new direction for the smartphone, though there will certainly be some eyebrows raised if there's no black or very dark gray color for the second year running.
