First there was Spotify Wrapped, then Apple Music Replay, and now YouTube Recap.
The online video-sharing service is one of the latest social media platforms to jump on the trend of recapping user activity for the year, rolling out the official roundups in North America on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Available in 17 languages, including English, Spanish, Korean, Polish, Indonesian and Hindi, YouTube Recap highlights users' top interests, channels and even assigns a personality type based on watch history — but only for users that are signed in.
Here's what to know, and how to access YouTube Recap.
What is YouTube Recap?
Like Spotify Wrapped, YouTube Recap generates an individualized roundup highlighting the content, creators, music and moments a user engaged with on the platform throughout the year.
Based on a user's watch history, YouTube Recap spotlights their top channels, interests, and even the evolution of their viewing habits in up to 12 different cards.

Why did YouTube Rewind end?
YouTube announced in 2020 that it would skip its annual end-of-year "Rewind" video, saying "it didn't feel right" to carry on as if things were normal amid the year's chaos.
The annual tradition began in 2010, and aimed to capture the platform's biggest moments, creators and content of the year in just one video. The global video-sharing platform officially put an end to its "Rewind" videos the following year in 2021.
"We no longer feel that a single video YouTube creates can reflect the full breadth of our creator community," YouTube posted to X. "We're excited to pass the baton to creators to give each creator community the space to celebrate the YouTube that’s most important to them!"
