Snap Launches 'Human-First' AI-Powered MCP For Advertisers
Snapchat's Ads Model Context Protocol(MCP) server integration is now after the company confirmed the completion of its MCP server rollout on July 25.
The integration allows advertisers to seek agentic campaign advice byconnecting their preferred third-party AI-powered tools to the social-media company's ad platform.
"In simple terms, the Snapchat Ads MCP Server makesit possible to ask an AI tool questions about your Snap campaigns and receive answers grounded in the advertising data you are authorized to access," the company's announcement explains.
The Ads MCP collects and analyzes data from Snap Ads API and the AI agents an advertiser onboards to the server, such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini.
In place of the traditional process of seeking out reports, exporting collected data and making spreadsheets, advertiserscan ask Snap's Ads MCP direct questions such as "Which performance trends require a closer look?" or "Summarize my active campaign performance for the last sevendays."
Organization administrators will be required to authorize each individual AI agent separately and determine which data the third-party agentgains access to within the MCP.
"At launch, all approved connections are read-only," Snapchat's announcement noted. "When writecapabilities become available in an upcoming release, Admins will be able to decide which AI agents remain read-only and which are granted read and write access."
Snap's MCP server launch comes after Pinterest , TikTok and Meta announced their own MCP servers.
Snapchat has referred to this agentic-assisted approach as"human-first, AI-enabled advertising" as the company continues to invest in its chatbot-based ad format in users' DMs in order to further theprecision of conversational-based shopping.
The company is also in the process of revamping its DynamicProduct Ads feature with a new class of agentic recommendation models focused on synthesizing user behavior, real-time user intent, and other signals to surface the most relevant products during auser's in-app experience.
Last month, Snap also launched its own "Snap Smart Assistant" for advertisers, which is designed to recommend campaignobjectives, audience strategy, optimization settings, and more.
The move aligns with Meta and Pinterest , which both introduced AI brand assistants totheir social platforms in the past year.
