Live TV On PS5 Launches With Over 100 Free Streaming Channels

Sony has launched Live TV on PS5, giving PlayStation 5 owners in the US free access to more than 100 ad-supported live channels and a growing library of on-demand content. The service, built by Sony Pictures Television, requires no subscription, downloads, or additional sign-ups, and is accessible directly from the console's Media tab.

Sports, Anime, Movies, and News in One Place

The launch lineup spans a broad mix of programming, including sports coverage from FOX Sports, NBC Sports Now, NASCAR, and UFC, alongside news from outlets like ABC News Live and NBC News Now. Crunchyroll supplies the anime slate, led by long-running series including Naruto , Death Note , Sailor Moon , and Hunter x Hunter , with two channels created exclusively for the platform: a dedicated Black Clover channel and a Crunchyroll Box Sets channel carrying full series runs.

Movie programming spans action, horror, and science fiction through channels including MovieSphere by Lionsgate, FilmRise Free Movies, Sony One Horror Hits, Cinevault, and 50 Cent Action.

Television programming draws on established titles like Community , The Walking Dead , Hell's Kitchen , The Shield , Fear Factor , Deal or No Deal USA , and Forensic Files , alongside Unsolved Mysteries and HISTORY's Ice Road Truckers .

Creator-led and specialty programming rounds out the lineup, including Hot Ones , Spotify's The Ringer , and gaming and esports content like eCLUTCH .

How to Access Live TV on PS5

To watch, players open the Media tab from the PS5 home screen, select the Live TV on PS5 icon, and sign in with their PlayStation account. The service also requires linking a Sony Pictures CORE account, or using an existing one, to access content. Both DualSense wireless controllers and Media Remote accessories work for navigation and playback.

PlayStation VP of Network Advertising, Loyalty, and Licensed Merchandise Grace Chen said the service "will continue to evolve" with regularly refreshed programming and new channels added over time. Sony is also looking to expand Live TV on PS5 to Canada, with additional regions under consideration.

The service is available now to adult accounts in eligible territories, funded entirely through commercial breaks rather than a subscription fee.
