YouTube Premium Is Set to Add Free Access to This Popular Streaming Service
Your YouTube Premium subscription is about to become a lot more valuable. Starting next year, Peacock's ad-supported live sports events, movies, and hit shows will be available directly in the YouTube app at no extra cost.
For those subscribing to both platforms, bundling them saves you $10.99 per month , the current cost of the ad-supported Peacock Premium plan. The standalone YouTube Premium subscription , meanwhile, starts at $15.99 per month.
"Together, we're giving viewers more of the content they love in one place, including the creators, artists and communities that make YouTube unique alongside Peacock's live sports, hit movies and popular shows," YouTube CEO Neal Mohan tweeted . He added that the perk will begin rolling out in early 2027.
YouTube will also introduce bundles and options to let its Premium subscribers "upgrade their Peacock membership and choose the best plan for them," according to a blog post .
For sports fans with YouTube Premium, the deal will allow them to watch the NFL, Olympics, NBA, MLB, WNBA, Premier League soccer, golf, Big Ten College Basketball, and other Peacock live events right on the YouTube app. The agreement also includes a provision to stream select live sports on the NBC Sports YouTube channel and extends NBCUniversal's distribution partnership with YouTube TV .
It also has plenty for those seeking entertainment, including Love Island USA, The Real Housewives franchise , Law & Order: SVU, Saturday Night Live, The Traitors, All Her Fault, and The Office, among other titles.
Last year, the two companies had a public dispute over carrying NBCUniversal channels on YouTube TV. While it initially appeared that YouTube TV would drop the channels over carriage fees, the two reached a new agreement just days later.
Peacock, meanwhile, is also available bundled with Apple TV or Prime Video .
