New Uber feature available in Phoenix allows parents, guardians to view teen during drive
Uber's new feature allows parents or guardians to view their teen's active trip through live video streaming.
The company said the feature is designed for quick check-ins, "giving parents another way to feel confident everything on their teen's trip is going smoothly."
Here is how the live video streaming works, according to Uber:

A teen trip begins.

The teen's linked guardian receives a push notification if live video is available.

They tap the alert to begin viewing in the Uber app.

The teen and driver are notified when the parent is tuning in.

The video stream automatically ends when the trip is complete.
Uber said only the teen's linked parent or guardian can view the live video stream during an active trip.
After the drive is done, neither the driver, guardian or teen has access to the recording.
Phoenix is one of nine cities with this available feature, according to Uber.
