IPVanish is far from the worst VPN , but it's not in the top tier either. As I determined in my full review, this service will work well for some people but not for others — especially if you regularly need to connect to servers on other continents. If you're looking for a better deal, a better VPN or both, here's how to move on from IPVanish.
How to cancel your IPVanish VPN subscription
To cancel your IPVanish subscription, you'll need to go through the same account page you used to download the VPN in the first place. From there, you can stop your subscription from renewing at the end of your current billing period. Follow the steps below.

Go to ipvanish.com. At the top right of the screen, click the words My Account.If necessary, enter your username and password.

On the left side of the screen, click on the word Subscriptionsunder the Account Management heading.

Click the orange Change Planbutton at the bottom right.

Scroll to the bottom of the new screen and click Cancel Subscription.

Under "Why would you like to cancel your subscription?" click one of the top four choices, then click Proceed with cancellation.

You'll see a popup with an offer for a discount on the next billing period. If you're sure about breaking with IPVanish, don't take this — it'll abort the cancellation. Instead, scroll down to find the box with the words "When should the cancellation occur?" Check the appropriate length of time, then click Submit Cancellation.
You'll be able to keep using IPVanish until your subscription expires, unless you delete your account. Also, when you submit a cancellation within the 30-day money-back period, your refund will be processed automatically. Check your bank account to make sure it goes through.
How to cancel IPVanish if you subscribed in-app
If you subscribed to IPVanish through its apps on an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Amazon mobile device, you may have paid in the app itself and not through IPVanish's website. In those cases, you'll need to go through the same app store you used to sign up.
On iOS, go to Settings,tap your nameat the top of the page, then tap Subscriptions.Find your IPVanish subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.This will end your IPVanish subscription with the current billing period.
On Android, go to the Google Play Store, tap your account avatarat the top right. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.Find your IPVanish subscription and tap Cancel.
If you went through an Amazon device, you can cancel through your Amazon account on any platform. On the "Hello, (your name)" menu, click on Memberships & Subscriptions,then find your IPVanish subscription and click the Cancelbutton.
How to delete your IPVanish account
Unfortunately, IPVanish doesn't give you a quick way to delete your account and nuke all your information. You'll have to contact them directly through their email support form . State clearly that you want to delete your account and wait for them to process the request.
How to get a refund from IPVanish
The most critical point to remember here is that IPVanish does not refund monthly subscriptions. If you had a 30-day plan, you can't get that money back. It also doesn't refund renewals. You're only eligible for a refund the first time you subscribe.
If you meet the requirements for an IPVanish refund — i.e. you purchased a one-year or two-year subscription less than 30 days ago — you don't have to do anything extra to get your money back. When you submit your cancellation following the steps in the first section, your refund should process automatically. If it doesn't, contact support immediately.

As I noted in my review, IPVanish isn't very fast. Both Surfshark and ExpressVPN give you a speedier experience, no matter where you are in the world. NordVPN is also quite fast and includes a variety of specialty servers for tasks like torrenting, obfuscating your connection and using the Tor network. However, my favorite service is Proton VPN , which balances speed with security and offers a full-featured free version.
