Dyson Introduces $500 Toothbrush with AI, Wifi and Bluetooth Capabilities

Dyson

Just when you thought humanity had perfected the toothbrush, Dyson has incorporated AI, Wifi and Bluetooth into its latest, $500, high-tech gadget.

The Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush was unveiled in Paris on Tuesday, September 1, according to The New York Post . The brush is currently available for preorder on Dyson's website for a whopping $500.

According to the website , the CameraJet has a 100k-pixel macro lens camera that can analyze 28 images per second. While you brush, you can watch along via a mobile app that you can connect to the toothbrush via Bluetooth or Wifi. Additionally, the brush uses artificial intelligence to identify and target interdental gaps, with the assistance of a stroboscopic light designed to illuminate the inside of the user's mouth for "optimal camera visibility."

For those concerned about the inside of their mouths being broadcast to the world, Dyson assures users that there are no privacy concerns.

"When using live viewing, images are streamed directly to your app in real time. They are not stored by Dyson, in the app or uploaded to the cloud," the product's FAQ reads. "Dyson and third parties do not have access to this live view at any time"

The device also boasts a built-in water flosser that "accurately jets up to 0.15ml of liquid between teeth." While it does not necessarily replace the need for flossing altogether, it is able to get between teeth no matter the orientation of the brush.

Unlike a regular water flosser, which only works at certain angles, the Dyson CameraJet boasts an "anti-gravity tank" that will work no matter the brush's orientation.

According to the site, the brush itself holds enough liquid for one session, but it will automatically refill itself on its charging station when not in use.

And, of course, the $500 toothbrush is also mechanical, so it will oscillate while in use.
