Carnival Tests Extended Guy’s Burger Joint Hours on One Ship
Cruisers sailing from Miami on Carnival Conquest have a new casual dinner option: Guy's Burger Joint. The line's popular Guy Fieri-branded poolside grill is now staying open later in the evening as part of a test Carnival is running on the ship.
It's a notable shift for a venue that's historically wrapped up service by early evening. Come Cruise With Me previously reported on why Guy's Burger Joint isn't open late across the fleet, after Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald explained that strict crew work-hour rules, not cost-cutting, kept the popular burger spot on a lunch-only schedule. Now, on Carnival Conquest at least, that's starting to change.
Heald addressed the update in an Aug. 25 Facebook post after fielding a wave of questions from passengers wondering why Guy's had extended its hours on Conquest.
"A while back we started testing something new on Carnival Conquest by keeping Guy's Burger Joint open later into the evening," Heald wrote. "We chose Conquest because she's one of our shorter-cruise ships, and we know many guests on those sailings enjoy having more casual dining choices later in the day."
So far, the results have been encouraging. Heald described the guest response as "fantastic," adding that people have enjoyed being able to grab one of Guy's burgers for dinner instead of, or in addition to, the usual options.
That enthusiasm is enough that Carnival is now weighing whether to expand the later hours to other ships in the fleet, according to Heald.

Guy's Burger Joint dinner hours don't replace the main dining room
Heald was careful to clarify one point to avoid any confusion: the extended Guy's Burger Joint hours are in addition to, not a substitute for, Conquest's main dining room. As Heald put it, the main dining room "remains a special part of the Carnival vacation experience."
Alongside the Guy's test, Carnival has refreshed some of its menus fleetwide to better reflect what passengers have said they want, Heald noted — part of a broader, ongoing effort by the line to fine-tune its dining program based on direct passenger feedback.
For vacationers who want to take advantage of the later Guy's Burger Joint hours on Carnival Conquest, Heald's advice: grab a Plain Jane and fries for dinner, and maybe catch a movie on the ship's outdoor big screen while you eat.

Complimentary, casual dining options like Guy's Burger Joint are already fan favorites across Carnival's fleet, and having more venues open later gives cruisers on Conquest's shorter itineraries more flexibility — especially those who are coming off a long excursion, arriving back on board later, or simply not in the mood for a sit-down dinner. I've been there, especially with two kids who want to get through dinner as quickly as possible to check in to the kids' club for evening activities.
Passengers lean on venues like Guy's for a low-key, flexible meal, particularly on shorter sailings where time on board is already tight. Extended hours like this solve a real pain point for late diners, families, and anyone who just wants a burger without waiting for a dining room table.
If Carnival expands the test to more ships, it could become a real reason why cruisers book certain vessels. For now, Carnival hasn't announced a timeline for when — or if — the extended Guy's Burger Joint hours will roll out beyond Conquest.
