Only 2 Business Class Lounges in the U.S. Named Among World's Best

Travelers pay airlines a hefty premium for the comforts and convenience that come with business class. One of the biggest benefits of traveling on the premium flight service is access to business class lounges at airports.

Travelers wait for hours for their flights to depart. For some, being able to wait inside a cozy, comfortable and peaceful space away from the usual madness of the pre-departure area is a necessity.

Airlines pride themselves on providing their premium passengers with the best experience in their respective airport lounges. However, according to Ben Schlappig of the highly popular travel and aviation website One Mile at a Time, there are a select few that go above and beyond.

Delta, United Among Airlines With the Best Business Class Lounges in the World

Schlappig, a self-confessed "airline product geek" who makes it a point to keep updated on the best products available in the aviation world, recently listed his top business class lounges in the world.

Four of the lounges in his curated list are situated in airports in the Arabian Peninsula (Riyadh, Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi), while two are located in Europe (Itsanbul and London). Schlappig also named two U.S. airport lounges among the very best.

First up is the Delta One Lounge in the John F. Kennedy Airportin New York. Schlappig was very impressed by the business class lounge, especially considering how Delta just rolled out this service within the past couple of years.

The restaurant, wellness area, terrace and luxurious shower suites are all top notch. However, what stood out the most for Schlappig is the "supremely friendly service." All in all, Schlappig believes Delta puts its competitors to shame with the elite JFK business class lounge.

Coming in behind the Delta One Lounge is the United Polaris Lounge, particularly the one located inside the Newark Liberty International Airportin New Jersey. Schlappig praised the lounge's a la carte restaurant, which also features a cocktail bar and barista-made coffee.

Schlappig noted that the wide network of United Polaris Lounges are "all pretty great," but he singled out the one in Newark as his favorite.

Access to both lounges is primarily reserved for eligible premium-cabin passengers. First and business class travelers on select partner airlines may also be granted access to the lounges.
