Banff Sunshine Is Welcoming Back Skiers In June. Here's What to Know
Looking for last licks on the 2025-'26 season? You're in luck.
After a record snow year in the Canadian Rockies brought in almost 400 inches (the resort averages about 365 inches a season), Banff Sunshine is giving summer skiers another go-around.
The resort, which closed in mid-May, will reopen June 20 (conditions permitting) and remain open through July 5. As of now, one lift, the Strawberry Express, will spin daily, though specific open trails have not yet been announced. There will also be a terrain park open, but features are still TBD.
"Back in 2022, we opened for summer skiing after a banner snow year. The experience was so well received by our community that we, as a team, decided that if we are ever presented with an opportunity to have summer skiing again, we, as a team, need to do all we can to make summer skiing happen," VP of marketing and brand communications at Banff Sunshine, Kendra Scurfield, told SKI. "As the snow fell throughout the season, the reality of being able to open for summer became more real."

Best of all, hours of operation will mirror those of a regular ski day, so you can ski bell to bell while perfecting your boot tan. The gondola from the parking lot will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and chairs will spin from 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Many on-mountain concessions will also be open, and we can't think of a better way to apres than under the summer sun. That said, keep in mind that many amenities will be scaled down, with ski school, rental shops, and daycare all closed.
Skiers with a 2026-'27 Sunshine Season Pass, SkiBig3 Season Pass, Rocky Mountain Passport, or guests staying at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge can ski for free. Skiers with a 2025-'26 Sunshine Season Pass, SkiBig3 Season Pass, Rocky Mountain Passport, 2025-'26 or 2026-'27 Ikon Pass are eligible for 50 percent off lift tickets.
Window rates are a flat $80 for adults, $50 for youth ages 13-17 and seniors, $30 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under.
