This Caribbean resort just added a 59,000-square-foot Sky Deck

Headed to Sint Maarten soon? If so, you'll want to check out the newest Pelican's Nest Sky Deck, a groundbreaking addition at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa . Redefining the traditional all-inclusive resort experience, this new 59,000 square foot concept is a new rooftop environment that brings together entertainment, adventure and social programming in a dynamic open-air setting.

Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa is now the all-inclusive Caribbean resort that offers a full-scale rooftop entertainment and adventure deck integrated into the guest experience, the Pelican's Nest Sky Deck represents a category-defining innovation within the all-inclusive space.

The new Sky Deck will feature a huge selection of activities for all ages, such as mini golf, rock climbing, a dedicated kids' play area, multi-sport simulators, a rooftop running track, and an open plaza featuring a performance stage and flexible event space. This Caribbean rooftop will also host events & entertainment, including live music, family game shows, movie nights, and interactive challenges, creating an energetic hub of activity from morning through night.

"The Pelican's Nest Sky Deck reimagines what an all-inclusive resort can be. By bringing entertainment, adventure and social experiences together in one elevated space, we're creating a destination within a destination—something guests simply won't find anywhere else in the Caribbean said Saro Spadaro, President and CEO of The Maho Group.  Future development plans include a Phase Two expansion in 2027, with additional all-ages thrill-driven experiences including zip lines and FlowRider surf simulators.

My thoughts

Sonesta Resorts St. Maarten

I've been to my share of all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and there's one thing every one lacks — adequate entertainment. I think this new Sky Deck will quickly become a hit for visitors of all ages, offering a little something more than just sitting by the pool all day. Today's travelers are demanding more out of their vacations. As much as there's a time and a place for sitting and roasting in the sun all day, new spaces like these can create new vacation memories that are geared towards travelers seeking a more "hands-on" vacation. I'd be pumped to go to an all-inclusive resort that offered thismuch to do.
