Spring is all about new beginnings, and this season’s most exciting hotel openings follow suit. From Napa to Montauk , we’re seeing a pattern: There’s a lot of action happening in destinations we already know and love, but that don’t often get new hotels. That’s why this cohort feels especially compelling. What ties these hotels together isn’t just high design or buzzy amenities (although there’s plenty of both), but a sense of evolution.

We’re seeing all this and more from the arrival of a world-famous wellness brand to a low-key Caribbean island, all the way to a renovated historic address in the heart of the Portland, Maine waterfront. Consider these hotels an excuse to go back somewhere you thought you’d already done—because these hotels prove that even the most familiar destinations can still surprise you.

TheLifeCo St. Lucia.

TheLifeCo—Saint Lucia

Where it’s located:Perched atop Mount Pimard overlooking Rodney Bay, the island’s most vibrant coastal hub, TheLifeCo sits within the sprawling A’ila Resorts development—a $1.3 billion project poised to reshape the island’s tourism landscape. The balance of elevation and proximity to Rodney Bay offers a blend of seclusion and immersion that’s rare in the Caribbean .

Why we’re excited:Wellness travel isn’t necessarily new in the Caribbean, but this feels next level. TheLifeCo, a globally recognized medical wellness brand with roots in Türkiye, Egypt and Thailand, is bringing a physician-led, diagnostics-driven approach to transformation. Think less beachside massages and more structured programs: nutrition protocols, one-on-one consultations, and cellular renewal therapies like something out a Denis Villeneuve movie. With a raw vegan restaurant, expansive gym facilities, and a full-scale clinic, this is a place to actively reset, not just unwind. Consider it the Caribbean’s most ambitious vote for wellness travel.

The Washington Inn—Santa Fe, New Mexico

The Washington Inn—Santa Fe, New Mexico

Where it’s located:Tucked off Washington Avenue, two blocks from historic Santa Fe Plaza, this intimate property places guests within easy walking distance of the art galleries, museums and restaurants that make this Southwestern capital so exciting.

Why we’re excited: Santa Fe has fantastic food and art scenes, but high-end, all-suite accommodations have been conspicuously lacking—until now. Enter the Washington Inn , an intimate, 27-key property that blends historic renovation with modern construction, with accommodations ranging from homey, studio-style stays to sprawling three-bedroom retreats that are perfect for groups. The design leans into a contemporary, sleek interpretation of the region’s style (not the same old, yet beloved, Pueblo Revival the city is known for), with lots of local stones and bricks throughout, and a color palette that reflects the high desert landscape. For visitors looking to experience Santa Fe not as tourists but as temporary residents, this is a compelling new address.

Hotel Corduroy

Hotel Corduroy—Montauk, New York

Where it’s located:In the heart of Montauk Harbor, a short walk to Sunset Beach, Gosman’s Dock by Bagatelle, and the Viking Fleet ferry to New London, Connecticut. The East End has changed so, so much over the last ten years, but there’s still glimpses of Montauk’s humble fishing village past in this part of town. Today, it’s an area that’s equal parts relaxed and refined—in other words, just where you want to be in Montauk .

Why we’re excited:Blue Flag Capital is in for a big, distinctly Long Island summer, with the expansion of its Faraway brand to Sag Harbor, as well as the openings of Oyster Estate in Greenport and this, located on the site of the former The Sunset Montauk. Hotel Corduroy marks Blue Flag’s first boutique hotel outside of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket , and this is a group that has a proven track record with creating vibey coastal properties perfect for a guest experience nothing short of transporting. The renovation by Ward + Gray brings a textured, design-forward aesthetic that feels fresh for Montauk, complete with a communal lawn outfitted with sofas, loosely arranged lounge chairs and a fire pit. Looking for a stylish Montauk hideaway this summer? This is it.

<cite class=The Hôtel Lili" decoding="async" data-nimg="1" class="fig-image-round p_maxWidth" src="https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/a5e54a413c8772e42d27d1c5f25e16c4a1dd0245355d12ce98e6a40cebd006e9/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w976;quality_80;format_webp/https:%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Fconde_nast_traveler_225%2Fb75fa0966307e36062c505c7bbd33c50" width="100%" style="; max-width:300px;"/>
The Hôtel Lili

The Hôtel Lili—Beverly Hills, California

Where it’s located:This newcomer from Avi Brosh’s Palisociety is tucked along a quiet stretch of South Lasky Drive just below Santa Monica and Wilshire Boulevards. Here, you’re removed from Beverly Hill’s flashier (read: touristy) corridors like Rodeo Drive, but still centrally located to have everything a short walk or drive away.

Why we’re excited:Beverly Hills has lots of luxury but not many boutique offerings, and the 44-room Hôtel Lili is poised to fill that gap. It’s set within a reimagined private residence from the 1930’s, and the building’s new look channels Palisociety’s distinctly European sensibility, like a fabulous Parisian apartment. Interiors are layered and intriguing without veering into kitsch, with striped patterns, wallpaper ceilings, sculptural lighting, and a soft, sunbaked palette that feels perfect for Los Angeles. The overall vibe is residential and personal, anchored by a lobby bar that’s refreshingly intimate for this part of town—don’t miss the espresso martinis or the French onion dip.

<cite class=The Monarch San Antonio" decoding="async" data-nimg="1" class="fig-image-round p_maxWidth" src="https://s.yimg.com/lo/mysterio/api/8050862684c3c20bcde3150137323ccb6274aeac061b6561f0cc24a9ecbc9feb/lightyear_networkapi/resizefill_w976;quality_80;format_webp/https:%2F%2Fmedia.zenfs.com%2Fen%2Fconde_nast_traveler_225%2F3fca6619d2674d3ee669f3df0d1a1f08" width="100%" style="; max-width:300px;"/>
The Monarch San Antonio

The Monarch, Curio Collection by Hilton—San Antonio, Texas

Where it’s located:You’re smack dab in the center of San Antonio ’s cultural and historic core here, just steps from the River Walk and the Alamo, and one mile from the San Antonio Missions (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It’s in the Hemisfair District, the city’s transformation of its 1968 World’s Fair site into a vibrant, walkable neighborhood.

Why we’re excited:Named after the iconic monarch butterfly which migrates en masse through San Antonio each year, The Monarch is one of San Antonio’s most exciting openings in recent memory. At 200 rooms, The Monarch could easily skew grand or impersonal, but instead lands somewhere more cozy and considered, with a sense of comfort that unfolds in the details: Italian linens, in-room tablet concierges, and even complimentary bikes for exploring the neighborhood. Design cues subtly echo the butterfly motif without veering into camp. There’s a rooftop restaurant, Aleteo (from the Spanish for “flutter”), where coastal Mexican pairs beautifully with Texas sunsets, while signature restaurant Oak & Amber focuses on the grounding flavors of mesquite and oak-fired cooking. Don’t miss the rooftop pool with cabanas, perfect for soaking up the San Antonio climate. Throw in an afternoon at the spa, you, too, might feel like a fresh butterfly, ready for flight.

The Evalina Hotel—Portland, Maine

Where it’s located:It’s in the historic, gut-renovated Granite Block Building at 215 Commercial Street in Portland ’s vibrant Old Port waterfront. You’re a short walk away from all of the bars, restaurants and bakeries that make this part of town so popular and vibrant—namely The Holy Donut and Luke’s Lobster.

Why we’re excited:As Portland, Maine continues to grow and change, The Evalina feels like a deliberate bid to preserve the neighborhood’s historic nature and independent character. Each key at this 15-suite property reflects a charming, homey balance of old and new, with exposed masonry and original granite lintels paired with custom wood furniture and modern lighting. Sweeping arched windows frame quintessential views of Commercial Street and flood these spacious layouts with natural light. Several units also come with private decks, allowing for an indoor/outdoor experience that’s rare for a hotel in this city. Backed by local ownership, the Evalina is less about scale and more about stewardship; a stay here invites you to be part of Portland's rhythm, not insulated from it.

Cambridge Common House—Cambridge, Massachusetts

Where it’s located:It’s in Harvard Square, on a quiet stretch overlooking Cambridge Common. This neighborhood’s hotel scene has long been dominated by the lovely Charles Hotel , so it’s nice to feel fresh energy bringing some competition to the area.

Why we’re excited:If you’re visiting Harvard (or any of the area’s many other schools), there’s finally a fantastic boutique option worthy of the neighborhood. And of course it’s even more fitting that Cambridge Common House is opening in the former residence of the influential Howe family, a home that for two centuries had been a gathering place for thinkers, artists and students. Cambridge Common House leans into that legacy with just 16 rooms that quietly nod to the area’s academic cred. Think rich woodwork, textured wallpapers, and working fireplaces that make each room feel like a private study. There’s a two-bedroom suite that’s perfect for families, too. Ye be warned: staying here might just inspire you to go back to school.

Casa Mani, Curio Collection by Hilton—Napa, California

Where it’s located:This is the first full-service resort in downtown Napa , blending wine country experience with city convenience. It’s positioned near all of the First Street tasting rooms, restaurants, shops and galleries, and is also a great basecamp for exploring greater Napa’s wineries, too.

Advertisement
Advertisement

Why we’re excited:Everyone knows Napa for its wineries and luxury wine resorts set amongst the vineyards, but downtown Napa, too, deserves attention—and Casa Mani is well-positioned at the center of everything. Following a major renovation, the property brings a design-forward, experience-heavy approach to wine country hospitality, complete with indoor/outdoor spaces that reflect the Napa Valley landscape. The property has several standout amenities, including a pool in the central courtyard, a signature restaurant BOA Steakhouse, and The Spa at Casa Mani, which offers a hydrothermal circuit and a menu of wine country-inspired treatments. The room to book? One of the Pool View Suites, where custom bi-fold doors open onto private patios with fire pits—an unmistakably California setup, best enjoyed with a glass of something local.
