Nikki From Obsession Surprises With Universal Halloween Announcement
Universal Studios Hollywood is launching its highly anticipated Halloween Horror Nights on September 3, and a massive surprise addition is generating excitement among horror fans.
Following a staggering $458 million global box office run on a $750,000 budget, the hit film Obsession will make its debut at the California theme park. The character Nikki, played in the movie by Inde Navarrette, will arrive as a roaming street encounter rather than a standard haunted house.
The event, which runs on select nights through November 1, features a massive entertainment roster. The final event lineup includes eight haunted houses, four scare zones, and the iconic Terror Tram. This year, the backlot tram tour is completely taken over by Art the Clown from the Terrifier films, featuring a custom soundtrack by Ice Nine Kills that twists classic Christmas songs.
A Unique Interactive Search Experience
Theme park creatives worked closely with Focus Features and director Curry Barker to quickly integrate Nikki into the event.
Recognizing the character as a victim of the supernatural One Wish Willow curse, Universal designed her appearance as an unpredictable street interaction. Rather than waiting in a standard queue, guests will participate in an interactive scavenger hunt across the darkened park.
Vacationers hoping to meet the character should go through the following operational details during their visit:
-
No fixed locations:The character will roam the theme park streets without any published meet times or scheduled greeting areas.
-
Social media clues:Guests should check the official event Instagram Stories each night to discover a secret daily phrase.
-
Collectible rewards:Visitors who successfully locate the character and recite the secret phrase have a chance to receive a limited collectible card.
Because the themed cards act as physical wishes, supplies are strictly limited each night. Creative Director John Murdy described the roaming street encounter as a massive hidden search for attendees to enjoy between major attractions.

Haunted Houses and Daytime Tours
Beyond the interactive street encounters, the theme park is introducing major original haunted houses. A new standout is KILLceañera , an original concept centered on a deadly birthday celebration featuring an exclusive soundtrack composed by legendary musician SLASH.
To help visitors maximize their time, Universal is offering its first Unmasking the Horror Tour Add-On during the day. The guided lights-on tour allows guests to safely explore the KILLceañera and Sinners houses with full photo privileges before the monsters clock in for the night. Visitors can also experience returning elements like the live WaterWorld stage show, ensuring a completely packed itinerary for thrill seekers.
