I consider myself a seasoned traveler. In 2025, I took 30 flights to destinations around the world. Being a travel writer, I'm clued into all things hotels, from hard-to-reach hostels to the finest resorts. So, how was it that I had never booked with a Four Seasons Preferred Partner? Asking my well-traveled community, I wasn't alone. Of all of my frequent flier friends , only one had ever booked through this elusive program that often gets you more perks for the same price. Here's how it works, and how to find the right partner for you.
The Four Seasons Preferred Partner (FSPP) program is an invite-only network of travel advisors whose bookings are flagged for VIP treatment at Four Seasons properties worldwide. Thousands of participating advisors help clients book stays across the luxury hotel brand. In exchange for travel advisors bringing Four Seasons business, their clients get an enhanced experience at the property, often including hotel credits, room upgrades, and a more sophisticated touch of service.
Now what exactly does that entail? Four Seasons intentionally keeps this program mostly under wraps. Finding any official detailed explanation as a guest is tough, so travel advisors shoulder the brunt of the marketing work, educating clients, promoting their services, and showcasing their knowledge of the hotel's programs. Perks are not guaranteed, but depending on the location, time of year, and type of booking, partners can get access to additional benefits for their clients, like complimentary room upgrades, wellness offers, airport transfers, travel credits, and free nights.
Alex Woche, marketing director at Ourisman Travel , a Top 25 Global Advisor, believes the main benefits are in the human touch. "We'll reach out on behalf of the client and connect with the hotel directly to talk about their preferences and what kind of room type would best suit them. Two weeks before the trip, we do another outreach where we remind Four Seasons of their preferences, and make sure they are listed as VIPs," says Woche. In the event of an emergency, travelers can work with advisors on contingency plans. "If there's ever an issue,  we make sure that person is taken care of, so they don't have to do the outreach," Woche adds. "They can just sit back and wait for us to handle the issue. Basically, we're your advocate."
I wanted to know for myself, what exactly does it mean to go with a Four Seasons Preferred Partner? I booked the San Francisco at Embarcadero property with a Four Seasons Preferred Partner Top 10 Advisor. For no additional cost, a travel advisor booked the right room for me for the same price I would have paid by booking directly. They asked questions about my preferences (top floor, please!), and sent requests to the property on my behalf. The perks, in my case, included a $200 hotel credit, a daily $80 breakfast benefit I could use via room service or in the restaurant, early check-in, and a room upgrade upon arrival, which landed me on one of the highest floors with a jaw-dropping view.
Beyond the financial perks, the service I experienced was more thoughtful than any I'd previously had at Four Seasons. It felt like the team went out of their way to ensure I was supported and had an excellent time on property—from extra touches like sharing a prearrival list of specialty coffee places to remembering my breakfast order. My FSPP kept in touch with me throughout the trip, ensuring everything was going smoothly.
Here's what you need to know to take advantage of the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program.

There are thousands of FSPP travel advisors, but some are a higher tier than others. Partners who engage with Four Seasons through program events like site visits, webinars, and property education are moved up within the program, with some achieving milestones becoming Top Advisor or Grand Prize winners.
Finding a partner that has been recognized with these milestones may get you closer to unlocking certain benefits and better service during your trip. Always interview a few advisors to get a sense of how well they know your desired property. Ask if they charge any planning fees, which advisory recognitions they've received, and whether they have personally visited the property. If you have specific travel needs, look into the advisor's familiarity with them. For example, if you're traveling with your dog , ask if they've had experiences with pets in the hotels you're considering. A good match should leave you feeling understood and well taken care of.

If the experience matters more than earning points , booking with a Four Seasons Preferred Partner may get you access to benefits unavailable through your credit card portal bookings.  Nick Cosinteno of Live Luxe Travel Co, a Four Seasons Preferred Partner Grand Prize winner, says staying within the Four Seasons program welcomes a better likelihood for upgrades. Even though upgrades and credits are not guaranteed, "if a hotel has two upgrades to give out for the day and they have three Preferred Partner bookings checking in and two AMEX, chances are higher that the upgrades are going to go to those who book through FSPP. It takes the highest priority," says Cosinteno.
Room credits can often be higher, and the breakfast credit is more flexible, with FSPP bookings able to take breakfast for two via in-room dining. When it comes to service, the experience is starkly different. "It boils down to customer service," says Cosinteno. "I've heard stories from clients where they've booked with their credit card company, and the agent on the phone is like, 'I'm going to have to transfer you to my colleague because my shift is ending and I have to go for the day.'"
If you've been booking Four Seasons stays directly, consider this your sign to try something different for your next luxury trip. Benefits are not guaranteed, but working with a travel advisor who is in your corner and knows how to give you the best chance of success makes your trip noticeably more effortless and delightful.
