Las Vegas Strip luxury hotel offers new perks for rewards members

Fontainebleau Las Vegas has launched a new loyalty perk that lets Rewards members spend their Bleau Points on attractions outside the resort, turning its casino rewards program into a way to pay for experiences across the city. The Experience Collection launched this week through a partnership with Vegas.com and includes nearly two dozen off-property attractions.

The collection includes experiences ranging from helicopter flights and supercar racing to attractions such as the Neon Museum, Area15, Omega Mart and the John Wick Experience. The move gives Fontainebleau guests another way to use points during a Las Vegas stay without limiting redemptions to restaurants, entertainment and other offerings inside the resort.

How the Fontainebleau Experience Collection works

The new option comes with several restrictions that guests will need to understand before using their points. Experiences are provided through Vegas.com, but members cannot simply visit the website and redeem Bleau Points online.

Instead, bookings must be made in person at the Fontainebleau Rewards desk while the guest is staying at the resort. The program, therefore, remains tied to an actual Fontainebleau visit.

The redemption rate is also less favorable than using points inside the property. An attraction costing $50 through Vegas.com requires 10,000 Bleau Points. Those same 10,000 points have a $100 value when redeemed within Fontainebleau, according to Casino.com's report on the launch .

Members must have enough points to cover the full cost of an attraction and cannot combine points with cash to complete a purchase. Redemptions are generally final, although points can be refunded when an attraction operator cancels.

Table games now earn Bleau Points

Fontainebleau is also changing how members accumulate rewards. For the first time, table-game play now earns Bleau Points, adding another route toward the new off-property attractions.

Kevin Sweet, Fontainebleau's senior vice president of slot marketing and operations, said the idea was to take the resort's rewards currency beyond the property. "Why not take our point currency and take it outside of our four walls?" he said .

The additions give Fontainebleau a different approach to a traditional casino loyalty program. Rather than requiring guests to spend their accumulated points at the same resort where they earned them, the Experience Collection connects those rewards with activities elsewhere in Las Vegas.

For visitors already planning to stay at Fontainebleau, the program could make Bleau Points useful for more parts of a trip. The trade-off is that outside attractions require twice the point value they would receive through an in-property redemption.
