2 restaurants spanning Palm Beach County just closed. Here's the scoop on what's going in
Two restaurants at opposite ends of the county are shifting gears. Both will temporarily close for a bit before new concepts are revealed.
The first features two boldface names you'll recognize whether or not you live in these parts. Big names, as in I just moved here and know these names are big.
You probably do too, but if not, we explain who the players are.
AquaGrille to close and reimagined as AQUASAN
Season 1 'Top Chef' competitor Stephen Asprinio's AquaGrille opened in Juno Beach in 2022. It closed March 14, 2025. Read more here .
'Top Chef' season one cheftestant-sommelier Stephen Asprinio , the gent behind the three-year-old AquaGrillewho also consulted on 1000 Northand various Love Street restaurants in Jupiter, is partnering with restaurant owner Patrik Waxin of Waxin'sin Palm Beach Gardens and Naples , on a joint venture that reimagines AquaGrille as AQUASAN, an Asian-inspired culinary experience.
AquaGrille closed after service on March 14.
"For years, Stephen and I have been talking about providing what he accomplished at 1000 North and Love Street to our company, which we finally have the opportunity to bring to fruition by bringing AQUASAN into our group," said Waxin.
Via email, Asprinio said, "I'm incredibly grateful for the love and support we've received from the local community. After examining AquaGrille's menu offerings, sales analytics, and feedback from our guests on our Asian-inspired dishes, we had a 'lightbulb' moment, leading us to develop the exciting, new concept.
The new venture is expected to open sometime in April after the remodeling.
Goodbye Sugar Factory, hello Beach Club
In Delray Beach, the colorful Sugar Factoryon Atlantic Avenue closed March 10 with plans to move to a bigger space in town.
Beach Club, a new Italian restaurant concept, is going into that space following a remodeling and is expected to open later this Spring.
Beach Club's partners Rob Krauss, Jared Falco, Matthew Watson, Shaun Vanalphen and Ian Bond back three restaurant concepts in New York City's Westchester and Fairfield County suburbs: Fortina , Bar Rosina and Grigg Street Pizza, which was featured on Guy Fieri's " Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives " on Food Network. That pizzeria also scored an 8.2 from Dave Portnoy's Barstool Pizza Review .
