Fireworks fly in West Palm Beach

So you've got the Independence Day weekend all planned out—fun in the sun, perhaps a cookout—but what about fireworks and culture? Grab your friends and family and head to the West Palm Beach Waterfront for the city's all-out Independence Day extravaganza, 4th on Flagler. There, you can enjoy fun patriotic remembrances, a live performance by Homegrown: The Zac Brown Band Experience, the 4thAnnual Bill Bone 5K and more. Plus, at 9:09 p.m., you can see the fireworks display over the waterfront—a sight you'll remember all year long!

Five centuries of prints at Norton Museum of Art

Prints—defined as a reproduction of an original work of art or an original work of art intended for graphic reproduction—are fascinating medium explored in the Norton Museum of Art's exhibition, "The Paper Trail: 500 Years of Prints from the Jonathan "Jack" Frost Collection." With prints from the Florida-based Frost's collection dating back as far as the 1600s, the exhibition features work by Albrecht Dürer, Anthony Van Dyck, Rembrandt, David Teniers II, Paul Gauguin, Hannah Höch, Franz Marc and Marc Chagall. Go and see this incredible collection!

"The Paper Trail: 500 Years of Prints from the Jonathan "Jack" Frost Collection":On display through August 11. General admission is $18, $15 for seniors, $5 for students with valid ID and free for children 12 and under. On Saturdays through September 2, the museum is free for Palm Beach County residents. Florida's Highwaymen discussion in Delray Beach

This Tuesday morning, fans of art history in Florida should plan on attending a special, one-time lecture at the Field House at Old School Square in Delray Beach. There, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Florida Atlantic University will present "Florida's Highwaymen: African American Landscape Painters and the Fort Pierce Art Phenomenon," a lecture hosted by Dr. Brian McConnell on the 26 artists whom exhibited resourcefulness and creativity, forging a unique style of painting that offered them economic independence amidst the Jim Crow era.
