40 of Your Favorite Drag Artists Are About to Compete in Hulu’s “Drag Me to Dinner”
We're rapidly approaching peak reality TV. Case in point: Hulu is combining two of the most beloved reality genres to create the ultimate competition show. In Drag Me to Dinner , 40 drag queens — many of which you know and love from RuPaul's Drag Race, Dragula, and from across the internet — will pair off to see who can throw the best dinner party.
The 10-episode unscripted series, described by Hulu as a "riotous, format-busting, fourth-wall-breaking, unapologetic sendup of traditional reality competition shows," was officially announced on Monday, Deadline reported. Hosted by drag king Murray Hill (from Somebody Somewhere) , each episode of Drag Me to Dinner will feature two teams of drag artists competing against each other in categories like Food & Drink, Design & Decor, and Entertainment & Overall Vibe, all for the ultimate prize: the Glorious Golden Grater. (Why a grater? As Pride.com reported, "because one team may be GREAT … but the other is GRATER!")
Competitors will be judged by Neil Patrick Harris, RuPaul's Drag Race season six champ Bianca del Rio, and actor Haneefah Wood. NPH's husband, David Burtka, will introduce a unique theme each week.
It's one stacked cast too, featuring queens from Drag Race and the Boulet Brothers' Dragula , as well as other drag legends. Per Entertainment Weekly , Drag Me to Dinner will also feature drag queen Heklina's final performance. Heklina, the founder of the legendary San Francisco drag club Trannyshack , Heklina was found dead at the age of 55 on April 3.
The full lineup of drag artists includes Drag Race favorites like Alaska, Jinkx Monsoon, BenDeLaCreme, Raja, Latrice Royale, and Jaida Essence Hall, Dragula stars like Meatball and Biqtch Puddin', and many more. You can check out more of the cast here .
