A24 Lands U.S. On Venice Winner ‘The Brutalist’

A24 acquired U.S. distribution rights to The Brutalist, a film directed by Brady Corbet and starring Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, and Joe Alwyn, which won the Silver Lion award at Venice before premiering at the Toronto Film Festival.
The film follows the journey of Hungarian-born Jewish architect Laszlo Toth, played by Adrien Brody, who immigrates to the United States in 1947 and eventually secures a contract with questionable backers after initially facing financial struggles.
Brady Corbet, the director of The Brutalist, received the Silver Lion award for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival, and the film is set to be showcased at the New York Film Festival, with CAA Media Finance brokering the U.S. distribution deal and Focus holding international rights.

Corbet wrote the immigrant story with Mona Fastvold, and pic stars Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce and Joe Alwyn. Film chronicles the journey of Hungarian-born Jewish architect, László Tóth (Brody), who emigrates to the United States of America in 1947. Initially forced to toil in poverty, he soon wins a contract with shady benefactors.
