Savannah Stopover and Hissing Lawns present Larry Jack's List

For years, Savannahians would look to the weekly music blog Hissing Lawns to search Larry Jack Sammons's "Magic Mystery Tour" column not only for what bands were playing where, but also where to find the effervescent and tireless supporter of Savannah's music scene.

A bike accident in September cut Sammons's life short, but his influence lives on from Noon to 6 p.m., Oct. 28, at the Park at Eastern Wharf , 101 Port St, where Savannah Stopover and Hissing Lawns present a fitting tribute his wide and welcoming musical tastes. Drummer and brew master Jeremy Hammons called upon his vast network of current and former Savannah musicians to create a lineup worthy of one of Sammons's year-end lists.

The open-air concert is free and open to the public, although donations to the Georgia Music Foundation are welcome to honor Larry Jack's name. Food trucks will be available, and guests can bring lawn chairs, blankets and small coolers with their own refreshments.
