Are Ariana Grande & Jessie J Recording a New Version of Brandy & Monica’s ‘The Boy Is Mine’?
Are Ariana Grande and Jessie J about to bang bang all over Brandy and Monica's '90s R&B classic? All signs point to yes.
In an interview with Hits Daily Double , veteran producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkinsannounced he's planning to re-record the Hot 100 -topping hit with the "Bang Bang" pair on vocals.

The cover is part of a forthcoming collection of "originals and reimagined hits" Jerkins is prepping to celebrate 20 years in the industry. He co-wrote and co-produced the 1998 single, which appeared on Monica's album, also titled The Boy Is Mine .
In the interview, he also mentions that Sam Smith is covering one of his all-time favorite songs — Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right It's Okay" — for the album.
Neither new track has surfaced yet, so for now, we'll have to make do with reliving the originals. Check out the music video for "The Boy Is Mine" below:
