Blake Sheltonhas had undeniable success both in country music and on The Voice — therefore, it's kind of a no-brainer that he created his own singing competition series .

The "God's Country" singer, 49, went into (some) detail in the first trailer for the upcoming reality show, The Road , which premieres on October 19.

The whole premise of the show is that 12 country hopefuls will compete for a chance to open for country icon Keith Urban. The contestants, in fact, will actually be performing with Urban all across the country — as they try to win over the audiences at each venue. That will then determine which contestant will move on to the next show with the "Somebody Like You" singer.

In the first look at the trailer, which dropped via Instagram on Wednesday, August 13, Shelton admitted that while "touring is hard to get right ... but [when you do], it's the best feeling in the world.

"There is not a musician in Nashville that wouldn't want the opportunity to have the stage before a superstar like Keith Urban," he added.

Viewers at home, Shelton explained, will be able to see the hard work and dedication that goes into trying to break into the industry as a country powerhouse. "They're gonna show people what these artists go through," he explained.

Another country hitmaker, Gretchen Wilson, will also appear on The Road . In the trailer, she describes the contestants journey with Urban is "not for the faint of heart." Still, you can see why the aspiring singers are dying for a chance to compete — the winner will be given a record contract and $250,000.

As Shelton gears up for his exciting new show, he recently got real about life at home with his wife, Gwen Stefani . (He is the stepfather of Stefani's three sons with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.) As it turns out, it's a 24/7 Shelton marathon at the couple's home.

"I crank all of my music all the time," the "Boys 'Round Here" artist quipped to  Taste of Country  Nights. "Twenty-four hours of Blake Shelton going on at Blake Shelton's house, come on in."
