Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro defensive tackle Cam Heyward will be featured in a new documentary, according to Deadline .
Deadline revealed that the untitled feature is being directed by Deon Taylor ( Black and Blue , The Intruder ) and produced by Roxanne Avent Taylor, Ephraim Salaam, Deon Taylor as well as Heyward via his newly launched production company, Iron 97 Productions.
The documentary centers around the deep relationship Cam had with his late father, NFL legend Craig 'Ironhead' Heyward, who died at age 39 of brain cancer when Cam was just a high school sophomore. The documentary will feature family archival footage and interviews. Filming is currently underway.
Cam Heyward credits the NFL Career Tour hosted by Hidden Empire Film Group and Skydance Sports for helping him get into the entertainment industry. Heyward has also hosted his own podcast, "Not Just Football, since 2023.
"Hidden Empire has given me the tools to embark on a journey to share my story – and my family's story. So many people have stories, but not everyone gets to see the full picture," Heyward told Deadline. "With this documentary, we hope to connect all the pieces and show what that full picture really looks like."
Heyward, 37, is a seven-time NFL Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro, and recipient of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award (2023).

All of Cam Heyward's seven best seasons have come since after he turned 28 years old. He's been a five-time All-Pro since he turned 30 years old.
This year, he'll be making one of the bigger adjustments to his career, with a new head coach in Mike McCarthy — the first in his 16 seasons — and a new defensive coordinator in Patrick Graham .
"It's a little weird, but I met Coach McCarthy years ago," Heyward said. "We've always talked, because his brother was my neighbor at the time. A lot of respect there. I'm just interested to get to know him, find out what makes him tick, find out how he's going to push me, and try to be a good teammate and a good follower under his tutelage."
Connor Heyward, Cam's younger brother, played four seasons with the Steelers (2022-25) before signing with the Las Vegas Raiders this past March. Connor Heyward will also be featured in the documentary.
Connor Heyward recorded 44 receptions for 379 yards (8.6 average) and three touchdowns in four seasons with the Steelers. He also rushed for 70 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns. Heyward's first career touchdown occurred in Atlanta in 2022, a 17-yard pass from Kenny Pickett. It was an emotional moment for Connor and Cam, as their late father, Craig "Ironhead" Heyward, played for the Falcons. The Heyward brothers were also raised in the Atlanta area.
Connor Heyward's jersey number with the Raiders is No. 34 , which is the same number that his dad wore.
