It's been over a decade since Charlie Sheenhas spoken in detail about his life beyond what was seen in tabloid headlines, but now, the Hollywood wild card is ready to tell his story on his own terms. The new Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen premieres September 10, and the former Two and a Half Men star spoke candidly about his addiction struggles, how fame affected his life and how he finally found solid ground again .
In the trailer for aka Charlie Sheen , released Wednesday, August 13, the clip opens with Sheen, 59, asking, "How do I present this with any class?"
The problem? That time has come and gone.
"I think we're past that, Charlie," a producer said from behind the camera.
For the first time in years, Sheen opens up about his life in Malibu as a child, along with his meteoric rise to fame followed by his eventual fall from grace. Several celebrities who know the '80s icon gave first-hand accounts of their relationships with Sheen, including his Two and a Half Men costar Jon Cryer , ex-wife Denise Richards , Sean Penn, Chris Tuckerand even former Hollywood madam, Heidi Fleiss.

However, what makes this different is Sheen's willingness to revisit some of his wildest times with a much clearer lens. He's no longer making headlines simply for the sake of making headlines. Instead, the Red Dawn star is owning his own brand of chaos and he's answering for it.
"Everything was fine for a while," Sheen said in the trailer. "Nobody got hurt and nobody got arrested… for a while."
But the Platoon actor didn't brush off his past behavior as if it meant nothing.
"I can't imagine being my dad," Sheen said, referring to his equally famous father, Martin Sheen. "I really hurt the people I love."
Sheen is unflinchingly honest in the trailer and he promised viewers that they would be getting the whole story and he wasn't "holding anything back."
According to the pop culture mainstay himself, nothing is off limits this time around.
